Sunday — A vandal or vandals overnight damaged three cars on East Locust Street. The windshield of one of the cars was smashed and the driver's side windows of the other vehicles were broken.The cars' owners are Debra Signorelli of Bruin; and Timothy Connell and Kirsten Frey, both of Butler.9:35 p.m. Saturday — Kean Knerr, 24, of Rochester, Beaver County, and Carrie Nelson, 23, of Cranberry Township face drug charges following a traffic stop on West Jefferson Street.Police spotted a baggie of suspected marijuana and rolling papers where Knerr was seated. Nelson's purse was searched and police found suspected marijuana and a pipe.Both defendants, passengers in the car that was stopped, are charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana drug paraphernalia.Scott Bell, 22, of Cranberry Township, the driver, was cited for driving a vehicle with a suspended registration.11:06 p.m. Friday — Christopher Coy, 45, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence on Pillow Street. He was also cited for running a red light and careless driving.8:34 p.m. Friday — Chad Erdos, 28, of Butler Township was arrested for driving under the influence on East Cunningham Street. He was also cited for driving the wrong way on a one-way street.6 p.m. Jan. 19 — A boy, who authorities did not identify, told police he was on Federal Street when another unknown boy got out of a black Dodge Neon and assaulted him.The assailant is described as white and in his teens. The Neon was described as having a black wing on the trunk and three white stripes on the wing. The car was equipped with four exhaust tips and it had a cracked front, left headlight.The victim told police that white lettering on the rear of the car spelled out: "Happy 17th Birthday Josh."Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 724-287-7743.
1:10 a.m. Sunday — Police are seeking the unknown driver of a 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme coupe that struck an embankment and tree along Keister Road in Slippery Rock Township, and apparently fled in another vehicle. Lucius Chapim owns the tree.1:04 a.m. Saturday — Timothy Moreino, 53, of Butler was arrested on a warrant following a traffic stop on Main Street in Butler. Moreino was a passenger in a mini-van stopped for an unknown traffic violation.He was taken into custody after police learned he was wanted out of Westmoreland County for a drug violation. Police said Moreino was searched and found with a digital scale, $546 in currency and a controlled substance not prescribed for him.District Judge Clifford Woessner arraigned Moreino on additional drug-related charges, and sent him to Butler County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bond. Additionally, he is being held on a detainer from Westmoreland County.8:05 p.m. Friday — A car driven by a Butler boy, who police did not identify, crashed into an embankment on Route 528 in Connoquenessing Township. The boy, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.2:25 p.m. Friday — Cars driven by Megan Shingleton, no age given, of Butler and Jeremy Lynn, no age given, of Slippery Rock collided on Route 8 in Center Township.2:30 a.m. Friday — Someone broke in the Annandale Country Store in Cherry Township and took an undisclosed amount of money.Friday — A vehicle driven by John Jordan, 32, of Harrisville was traveling on Porter Road in Marion Township when it struck an embankment and rolled over. Jordan, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. He was cited for driving without a license and misuse of a registration plate.Friday — Genesis Electric of Butler said two rolls of insulated copper wire were stolen between 4 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday from a home under construction on Hunter Hill Road in Muddy Creek Township.6:20 a.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by William Blose, no age given, of Rural Valley, Armstrong County, skidded on snow-covered Route 422 in Summit Township and collided with a car driven by Carl Petrarca, no age given, of Vandergrift, Westmoreland County.
5:50 a.m. Sunday — Tamisha Cox, 29, of Indiana, Indiana County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.5:40 p.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Richard Grabiac, 69, of Ford City skidded on an icy bridge on Route 28 in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County and crashed into a guardrail.6 p.m. Friday — A lap-top computer was taken from a vehicle at the Prime Outlets parking lot in Springfield Township, Mercer County.9:45 p.m. Jan. 21 — A car driven by Sarah Ross, no age given, of Slippery Rock struck the rear of a pickup truck driven by Fred DeLong, no age given, of Grove City. Ross was cited for careless driving and driving with a suspended license.4:55 p.m. Sunday — Cars driven by Stacey, Wehner, 19, of Pittsburgh and Joshua Michaels, 20, of New Castle collided at Route 19 and Stoughton Road in Scott Township, Lawrence County.Mathew Michaels, 19, of Slippery Rock, a passenger wearing a seat belt, was treated for minor injuries at Jameson Hospital in New Castle.
Friday — Copper plumbing, fittings and wiring were taken Thursday or Friday from a home under construction on Old Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. William Davis of Portersville owns the home.
