Butler 12U Little League wins District 25 for 3rd straight year

Cameron Varner allowed just three hits in a complete-game effort as Butler’s 12U Little League all-star baseball team defeated Franklin 6-1 Wednesday to clinch the District 25 championship at Adelman Field in Butler Township.
Varner also had two of Butler’s seven hits, while Reed LaSitis drove in a pair of runs in the fifth inning.
It’s the third year in a row and fourth in the last five that Butler has won the district crown. In its three games of this year’s tournament, Butler outscored its opponents by a combined score of 22-1.
The team advances to the Pa. Little League Section 1 Tournament, which begins July 18 in Meadville.
