8:58 p.m. Wednesday — Trevor G. Walker, 23, of Butler was arrested after he was caught allegedly high on drugs and trying to break into a pair of vehicles in the 300 block of North Chestnut Street. Neither vehicle was damaged. A police report did not indicate what, if anything, was taken.Walker admitted to officers that he had used prescription drugs. He is charged with theft from a vehicle, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
12:30 a.m. Tuesday — Adam Took, 26, of Butler was found allegedly huffing chemical fumes in the 500 block of Whitestown Road. He is charged with illegal use and possession of certain solvents and noxious substances2:45 p.m. Monday — Donald Anderson, 39, of Butler was hurt in a hit-and-run crash on Evans Road. He was driving a car west when an unidentified eastbound pickup truck struck his driver's side mirror. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.Police described the suspected hit-and-run vehicle as a white, Dodge Ram with black fender flares and a lift kit. 8:46 p.m. Wednesday — William V. McCollums IV, 20, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his 61-year-old father at a home on Route 308 in Clay Township. McCollums was placed in the Butler County Prison to await arraignment on charges of simple assault, harassment, driving under the influence resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.5:06 a.m. Wednesday — Dense fog was blamed for a two-vehicle crash at Route 228 and Victory Road in Clinton Township.Arlene O. Luich, 62, of Cabot swerved her sport utility vehicle while eastbound on Route 228 but was unable to avoid hitting a tractor-trailer just ahead. The truck driven by Michael D. Osborn, 51, of Marion, Iowa, was making a turn onto Victory Road and the semitrailer was in the middle of the intersection when it was hit.No charges were filed because of the bad weather conditions, police said.State Police, Mercer10:50 p.m. Friday — Lance A. Dickey, 26, of Slippery Rock was seriously injured when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail on Carpenters Corners Road in Perry Township. Dickey, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown off the cycle and landed about 20 feet from the guardrail.A medical helicopter flew Dickey to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh with a “major injury,” according to a police report. His condition was not known this morning.He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Friday — A thief stole a red, 1984 New Holland square hay baler from McDowell Farm Implement on Sandy Lake Road in Wolf Creek Township. The baler, valued at $6,900, was taken between 5 p.m. July 10 and 9 a.m. Friday. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.8:06 p.m. July 9 — No injuries were reported when three tractor-trailers collided on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township. The chain-reaction crash happened when Phillip A. Woods, 52, of Eaton Rapids, Mich., failed to stop his rig in time and hit the back of another rig driven by Michael W. Tillery, 34, of Renfrew.Tillery was stopped for a traffic backlog near a construction project. The collision pushed Tillery's vehicle into the back of a rig driven by Jeremy D. Raasch, 39, of Mosinee, Wisc.Pine Township volunteer firefighters assisted.July 5 — Two men are suspected of stealing a brass horse carousel statue and brass camel carousel statue after breaking into the Sundance Arena on Fredonia Road in Fairview Township, Mercer County. The stolen property is worth $7,500.The suspects, who police did not identify, sold the items at a scrap yard in Lawrence County. Burglary and theft charges are pending against both men.
