Monday — Police charged John D. Dunmyer Jr., 26, of Butler with stealing an Apple iPad valued at $300 while visiting a woman Sept. 24 at her home in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue. Dunmyer is charged with theft.Saturday — Bryan R. Leonard, 29, of Butler was caught with suspected drugs after police were called to the East Christie Avenue playground for a reported fight.When officers got there they found Leonard, who appeared intoxicated, arguing with an unidentified woman. Police searched him and turned up a plastic baggie containing three used syringes, two Suboxone strips and a spoon with suspicious residue.Leonard is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.8:35 p.m. Friday — Ryan Messina, 19, of Butler was arrested after allegedly punching his girlfriend in the face, back and arm during a dispute at his home in the 300 block of North Elm Street.The victim, identified in court documents only as a juvenile, suffered minor injuries.Messina was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and released on $2,000 unsecured bail.7:10 p.m. Friday — Sophia R. Locke, 22, of Butler was arrested after she allegedly punched her boyfriend, Kenneth Reges, in the mouth during a domestic dispute at her home in the 200 block of North Sixth Avenue. Reges suffered a bloody lower lip.Locke, who is charged with simple assault, is free on $1,000 bail.7:40 a.m. Friday — A 25-year-old Butler man possibly tripping on LSD was arrested after police spotted him walking in the middle of the road wearing no clothes.When stopped at West New Castle and North Chestnut streets and questioned by officers, the suspect, Matthew J. Daniels, became “belligerent and loud,” according to court documents. He also told the officers he was “on acid,” a police affidavit said.Police noted in charging papers that it was daylight and there were buses in the area taking students to school, including Broad Street Elementary School, just two blocks away from where Daniels was stopped.Officers arrested Daniels and took him to the police station holding cell, where he was held until sober. He is charged with open lewdness and public drunkenness.Friday — Police charged Dina N. Flint, 26, of Butler with simple assault for allegedly abusing her 2-year-old daughter about 3 p.m. Oct. 2 on a downtown street. The owner and about 15 students at the Butler Beauty School on South Main Street witnessed the suspected assault, court documents said.The witnesses told police that Flint pushed the girl to the ground, pinched her face with hair clips and tried to burn her with a lit cigarette, the documents said.Flint denied the allegations, police said, and claimed her child had fallen down on her own. Police notified the Butler County Children and Youth Services agency, which assisted in the investigation.

Monday — Police recovered two bicycles near the 300 block of West Main Street. The owner or owners can claim the property at the police station, 337 E. Pine St.

12:46 a.m. Tuesday — Two suspects tried to pull the tailgate off a truck at a home in the 900 block of Grant Avenue in East Butler. But the owner, a 31-year-old man, saw the pair and chased them away.The suspects ran to an unidentified compact car and drove off eastbound.

6:33 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Brett E. Crissman, 32, of Kittanning rear-ended a vehicle on Route 422 in East Franklin Township. Crissman blamed the accident on his ringing cell phone, which momentarily distracted him.Police cited Crissman for following too closely to another vehicle. Bryan M. Butler, 49, of Emlenton, Venango County, was the other driver.Tuesday — Police cited 84 Lumber on Butler Road in North Buffalo Township for its fourth false alarm in 12 months. The false alarm went off at 2:58 p.m.Four minutes later, police got another false alarm at the same business, which was cited a second time for the same charge.

Oct. 1 — Four tires valued at $400 were stolen from Clem's Garage on Millbrook Road in Worth Township, Mercer County. The thief is described as an older white man with a “hunched over limp,” according to a police report.Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.
