Butler Police6:07 p.m. Tuesday — Eric J. Jeffries, 36, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman and took money from her during an altercation at his home on the 300 block of Wagner Avenue.Police were called to the home for a report of a man and woman arguing. While on their way, police spotted the couple walking on the 400 block of West Brady Street.The woman, who police did not identify in court documents, was bleeding from her mouth, left ear and left cheek. She told officers that she and Jeffries had gotten into an argument after he accused her of stealing his medication.Jeffries is accused of pushing her around his apartment. The woman said when she tried to leave, Jeffries tackled her and punched her in the head and face. At some point, documents said, he flicked a cigarette ash at her face, hitting her left eyeball.The alleged victim told police that when she was on the floor, Jeffries kicked her several times. Afterward, documents said, he took $31 out of her jeans pocket.Jeffries was arraigned on charges of robbery, simple assault and theft. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail following arraignment.

Cranberry Twp PoliceThursday — Nadia A. Errafaq, 23, of Cranberry Township was arraigned after being picked up on a pair of arrest warrants stemming from unrelated theft-related cases last year in the township.In one case, Errafag is accused of using her grandmother’s credit card without permission to make $1,342 in purchases between Nov. 21 and 24 at the Kohl’s department store on Route 228. She primarily bought Kohl’s gift cards, according to court documents.Police later spoke to the defendant, who admitted taking and using her grandmother’s credit card to buy the gift cards, which she sold at a pawn shop in Dormont, Allegheny County.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Errafaq on felony charges of forgery and access device fraud and misdemeanor charges of theft and receiving stolen property.In the other case, Errafaq is accused of shoplifting $270 worth of merchandise form the Ulta Beauty store on Route 19 in the township. Haggerty arraigned her on a misdemeanor charge of retail theft.Following arraignment, she was placed in Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail.Thursday — An Ohio man was arrested on a more than two-year-old warrant in connection with charges that he and a woman tried to cash a forged check in 2013 at First Niagara Bank on Route 19.The suspect, Oneal Brown III, 46, of Warren, and Melissa L. McIntosh,37, of Newton Falls, Ohio, allegedly attempted to cash the check for $2,497 on Dec. 13, 2013.When bank employees realized the check was fake, the suspects fled.Police subsequently arrested McIntosh, who told investigators during an interview March, 25, 2014, that she tried to pass the bogus check, according to court documents.Three days after that interview, police obtained an arrest warrant for Brown. Nearly 26 months later, he was arrested.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Brown on charges of forgery, conspiracy, access device fraud, theft by deception and attempted theft by deception. He was placed in Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail.McIntosh in September 2014 pleaded guilty to forgery in the case, and she received 18 months on probation.

Grove City PoliceWednesday — A student was found with a folding knife at Grove City High School. The knife, which has a 3½-inch blade, was found in the 15-year-old boy’s back pack. School officials apparently learned of the knife after another student reported seeing it April 29.The boy, who police did not identify, faces a juvenile court charge of possession of a weapon on school property.

State Police, Kittanning11:50 a.m. Wednesday — Jaime R. Tully Sr., 52, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of drunken and drugged driving after his car struck a Butler County trucker’s rig on Route 28 northbound just south of exit 14 in Tarentum, Allegheny County.Tully did not stop after his car veered from the left lane into the right lane, hitting the back of the tractor-trailer drive by Chad E. Ross, 35, of Renfrew.Moments earlier, the suspect had been seen “weaving and swerving” in his lane, according to a police report. He continued his erratic driving after hitting the rear, driver’s side portion of Ross’ trailer.The arresting trooper said he spotted the suspect’s car cross over both northbound lanes before returning to the left lane and off the west side of the road. The vehicle traveled onto the grass median and re-entered the left lane.Another trooper assisted in “boxing in” Tully’s car about two miles south of Route 422 in North Buffalo Township, where police made their traffic stop.Police said they suspect Tully was impaired by alcohol and drugs. They noted that they found an open container of vodka in the car’s center console cup holder. A police certified drug recognition expert evaluated the defendant’s condition.In addition to driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and a drugs, Tully faces charges of hit-and-run and several traffic violations.
