Butler Police
12:31 p.m. Saturday — One person was hurt when a car driven by Gary J. Austin, 46, of Butler drifted across the double yellow lines into opposing traffic and collided with another vehicle on West New Castle Street near Sixth Avenue.
The other driver, Amanda J. Defranciscis, 19, of Renfrew, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, according to a police report. She was wearing a seat belt.
Thursday — Police charged 3 men in connection with a fight about 6:30 p.m. May 3 outside the Domino’s restaurant on South Main Street. Police said when officers got there they found the bloodied suspects inside the pizza shop, where one or more of them worked.
Charged with disorderly conduct are Kristopher M. Booker, 18, of Vandergrift, Westmoreland County; Gage W. Palmatier-Flynn, 25, of Renfrew; and Glenn L. Shook, 30, of East Stroudsburg, Monroe County.
State Police, Butler
4:30 p.m. Sunday — Joyce A. Ballew, 64, of Prospect was uninjured when a dark green pickup truck sideswiped the car she was driving on Route 422 just east of Main Gate Road in Prospect. The unidentified older model pickup was equipped with a cap and was hauling a camper.
Thursday — An unknown thief stole a man’s electric wheelchair on Hyvue Avenue in Summit Township. The wheelchair, which is valued at $50, was taken between April 1 and May 7. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
State Police, Clarion
12:07 p.m. Thursday — Raymond McIntyre, 20, of Rimersburg was arrested after allegedly violating a 20-year-old Parker woman’s protection from abuse order and then leading police on a high-speed chase through Clarion, Butler and Venango counties.
Police accused McIntyre of driving to a home in Licking Township where the woman with the PFA against him was staying. A short time later, a trooper spotted the suspect’s car speed by on Craig Road in Licking Township.
The trooper chased after McIntyre’s PT Cruiser for several miles before losing sight of the vehicle. But about an hour later, police spotted the defendant in Clintonville, Venango County, and began a second high-speed chase that continued into Butler and Clarion.
Police said the suspect was eventually caught and placed in the Clarion County Jail on $25,000 bail. He faces a list of charges including fleeing or attempting to elude police and violating the PFA.
State Police, Kittanning
1:55 a.m. Saturday — A 22-year-old Templeton man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Clearfield Pike near Oak Avenue in Rayburn Township. Police did not identify the suspect, who also faces numerous traffic tickets.
Saturday — Police charged Justin W. Smith, 31, of Adrian with dumping a large amount of waste in East Franklin Township last month. Numerous plastic garage bags, tires and household items including a mattress were found over a wooded hillside on Quigley Hill Road.
Smith was cited for scattering rubbish.
Saturday — An unknown vandal removed the door on a mailbox at a 53-year-old man’s home on Madison Road in Madison Township. The incident happened between noon and 8:30 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.
Saturday — Someone tampered with a lawn mower that was in the barn at a 36-year-old woman’s home in the 300 block of West Brickyard Road in East Franklin Township. The vandalism happened between May 4 and Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
7:30 p.m. Friday — A 53-year-old Templeton man was arrested for contempt of court after showing up at the home of a 53-year-old Rayburn Township woman who has a protection from abuse order against him.
A police report did not immediately identify the suspect, who was arraigned on charges of violating the PFA and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $10,000 bail.
