6 p.m. Sunday - Cars driven by Daniel Wertner, 44, of 112 Fourth Ave. and Patricia Foringer, 54, of 309 W. Pearl St. collided at East Penn and North Cedar streets. Foringer was taken with minor injuries to Butler Memorial Hospital. Wertner was cited for driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
Monday - Jason Foster, 26, of Butler was arrested for allegedly creating fraudulent return receipts during a six-week period while he worked at the Home Depot at Moraine Pointe Plaza. Foster is charged with forgery and retail theft.Sunday - A 27-year-old township woman was arrested after police found her in the restroom of a New Castle Road restaurant passed put from an apparent drug overdose.Police checked the woman's purse and identified her as Kimberly Kiser of 226 Havenhill Road. Officers also found several syringes and drug paraphernalia in the purse.Kiser, who was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital, later admitted to ingesting heroin. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.
9:33 a.m. Friday - Police responded to a call at 1337 Old Freedom Road from a passing motorist who called about a power transformer on fire. When police arrived, they did not see a fire, but several power lines were down.Cranberry volunteer firefighters were called and assisted in closing the area until Penn Power crews repaired the trouble.
July 27 - Kristy Maietta, reported that someone overnight broke into her vehicle parked at her Emerson Drive home and took 40 compact discs valued at $350.July 27 - Deborah Tatsak reported that someone overnight broke into her vehicle at her Hemlock Drive home and stole a compact disc player valued at $150.2:20 a.m. July 25 - Thomas James Burns Jr. 29, of Rochester, Beaver County, was charged with assault and disorderly conduct stemming from an altercation at the 3B's Lounge on Route 19.Police were called to the bar because of a fight, but when they arrived the fight had been broken up. Police said that upon questioning Burns about the incident, the defendant became belligerent with officers.The defendant allegedly kicked the police car while being arrested and caused about $2,000 damage to the vehicle.
Saturday - An unknown suspect who referred to himself only as "Inspector Goodman" allegedly scammed an elderly Grove City area man out of a large amount of money.The suspect called the 74-year-old man and claimed the victim had won a sweepstakes. The caller, who identified himself as Inspector Goodman, told the man to send money to process the winnings.Police said the victim sent "several thousand dollars" to an unknown address in Canada. Authorities have determined the case to be a scam.
