3:35 a.m. Sunday — Steven W. Charlton, 34, of Butler was arrested after allegedly violating a protection from abuse order when he showed up at Candice Cady's Ash Street home. He also is accused of calling Cady on the telephone.Charlton was placed in the Butler County Prison to await arraignment on a charge of indirect criminal contempt.Sunday — Police charged Kaley L. Merk, 26, of Butler with drugged driving stemming from a 1:55 a.m. April 21 traffic stop at Washington and New Castle streets.A police report said an officer found a syringe and numerous empty stamp bags of heroin in the car. Merk was given a blood test and the results later showed morphine in her system.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, she is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving.Sunday — A Butler woman said someone stole her Motorola Droid X cell phone while she was at the Monroe Hotel on East Jefferson Street. The phone is valued at $350.4:57 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Lori Shawl, 46, of West Sunbury rear-ended a pickup truck at Center Avenue and Marvin Street. Police said Shawl was cited for following too closely to another vehicle. Robin Smith, 48, of Clay Township was driving the pickup.State Police, Butler6:28 a.m. Saturday — A Chevrolet pickup struck two utility poles along Valencia Road near Leisie Road in Forward Township. The unknown driver and pickup were gone by the time troopers got there. Police suspect the truck was towed away.Police said the pickup lost an eight-bolt rim and wheel assembly as well as a Dakota H/T Definity tire.Anyone with information about the Chevy truck, possibly a three-quarter ton 2500 model, missing a right side wheel, is asked to call 724-284-8100.12:47 a.m. Saturday — Dejon Sheppard, 19, of Erie was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.A drug-detecting dog, police said, indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Investigators were to seek a search warrant for the vehicle.Saturday — Police reported that the Pennsylvania license plate HMP5543 was stolen from a West Sunbury man's vehicle that was being stored on property on McCracken Lane in Fairview Township. The owner believes the plate was taken between Nov. 11 and Jan. 1.11:55 p.m. Friday — Joshua S. Young, 24, of Butler was caught with suspected marijuana and other contraband at the Marathon convenience store on Route 8 South in Butler. Young faces charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.9:33 p.m. Friday — Two people were hurt when a car driven by William D. Laue, 20, of Evans City struck a tree along Shannon Road near Camp Fatima Road in Connoquenessing Township.Laue and his passenger, Ryan J. Burger, 21, of Butler, suffered minor injuries; both were wearing seat belts.3:10 a.m. Friday — Jedediah Vickers, 18, was arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, Ashley Smith, during a domestic dispute at their West Jefferson Street apartment. Police said Vickers also threatened to kill Smith, according to court documents.Vickers was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and underage drinking, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail.8:50 a.m. Friday — Cars driven by Debbe Picerno, 55, of Butler and Angela Kileen, 47, of Prospect collided on Route 488 near Kelly Road, Police said Picerno faces a ticket for driving at an unsafe speed.2:43 p.m. Thursday — Two people were hurt when a 17-year-old West Sunbury boy lost control of his pickup truck leaving Moniteau High School and collided with a car on Route 308. The pickup ended up rolled over on its side in a field. Danielle Lavery, 35, of Boyers, who was driving the car, and her passenger, Susan L. Herman, 55, also of Boyers, suffered moderate to minor injuries.All three occupants were wearing seat belts. The boy, who police did not identify, was cited for a lane violation.Wednesday — A white, Kenmore electric stove was stolen in a burglary at a Boyers Road home in Marion Township. The stove, worth $150, was taken between 1 p.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. Wednesday.8:31 p.m. Tuesday — Jaime L. Montgomery, 35, of Valencia was hurt when the car she was driving struck a tree after hitting a guardrail and embankment in Saxonburg Boulevard near Deer Creek Road in Clinton Township.Montgomery, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries. Police said she was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.12:50 a.m. May 7 — Vanessa K. Trainor, 40, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 in Clay Township.May 9 — An unknown burglar stole a 27-inch Vizio flat screen television, a set of Ping golf clubs, an orange wood guitar and Keurig coffee maker from an apartment on Cameron Drive in Slippery Rock Township. The burglary happened between May 6 and 9.May 7 — About 10,000 feet of copper wire was stolen from a trailer at a Bull Creek Road home in Jefferson Township. The theft happened between April 29 and May 7.

Friday — An unknown thief pried open two locked snack vending machines at the Hampton Inn Suites on Holiday Boulevard in Springfield Township. An undetermined amount of coins was stolen in the theft between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.

5:16 p.m. Sunday — Vehicles driven by Michael J. Brady, 25, of Sussex, N.J., and Megan T. Dehart, 24, of Parker collided on Perkins Road near Route 68 in Monroe Township.1:08 a.m. Sunday — A car driven by Gabriel L. Gehenio, 30, of Sarver crashed into a guardrail on rain-soaked Interstate 80 in Clarion Township. Police said Gehenio was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

9:35 p.m. Friday — Police arrested five suspected illegal aliens after a traffic stop on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township. The suspects, four men between 22 and 33 years old and a 17-year-old boy, are all Mexican nationals.The men were placed in the Allegheny County Jail and are to be turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Officers with ICE took immediate custody of the boy.
