5:18 a.m. Tuesday — An Allegheny County man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman during a domestic dispute at an apartment in the 200 block of Pillow Street.
Eric L. Barlow, 27, of West Mifflin was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.
The alleged victim told police that Barlow threw a laundry basket at her, court documents said. When she put her hand up to stop the basket, it caught her right middle finger causing the fingernail to be torn off.
March 22 — Paula L. Winkler, 30, of Butler Township was charged with being more than 3½ times the state’s legal limit for alcohol stemming from a hit-and-run crash this month in the 200 block of Mercer Street.
Police allege Winkler about 9:50 p.m. March 12 drove away after she struck the back of a car parked on the side of the road, pushing it into a parked pickup truck. The owner of the truck followed the defendant to her home, according to court documents.
An officer got there and found Winkler’s car, which was missing its front bumper. Police spoke to Winkler, who denied being in the hit-and-run wreck. She failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.
Winkler’s blood-alcohol was 0.309 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.
In addition to driving under the influence, she is charged with hit-and-run.

11:36 p.m. Monday — Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle wreck on Route 422 near Route 8.
The crash happened when Phillip Sweatt, 30, of Evans City lost control of his vehicle and struck a concrete barrier. The vehicle bounced off the barrier and struck another vehicle driven by Alyssa Schaffner, 23, of Slippery Rock.
Sweatt was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with a head injury. Schaffner’s passenger, John Fox, 23, of Butler was taken to the same hospital with a leg injury. The men’s conditions were not available.
Both vehicles were towed.
5:02 p.m. Monday — A three-vehicle crash at Route 356 and Alameda Park Road left five people with apparent minor injuries.
The wreck occurred when a sport utility vehicle driven by Roseann Sanko, 66, of Butler rear-ended a car driven by Ashley Sauer, 32, of Prospect. The crash pushed Sauer’s car into an SUV driven by Edward Weber, 39, of Butler.
Sauer and her three passengers — Nicholas Foster, 33, of Prospect and two youths — were treated at the scene for unknown injuries. One of Weber’s passengers, Sarah Weber, 36, of Butler, was treated at the scene for unknown injuries.
Sanko’s and Sauer’s vehicles were towed. Police cited Sanko for driving too fast for conditions.
Monday — William J. DeAngelo, 34, and Shane M. Martin, 31, both of Butler, were charged in connection with a street fight last month on Colleen Street. The altercation happened about 5:15 a.m. Feb. 11.
Both men are charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment.
10:16 p.m. Saturday — Joanna Valentas, 17, of Cranberry Township lost control of her car and struck a gravel pit on Route 8. The teen and her three passengers were not injured.

Friday — Brian M. Hyatt, 39, of Slippery Rock was charged with submitting a state license to carry firearms application March 9 that included answers about his criminal record that were not truthful and were rejected by the Pennsylvania Instant Check System that is run by the state police.
Hyatt is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities.

9:55 a.m. Monday — Dallas C. Bowie, 22, of Pittsburgh allegedly punched another person in the face during an incident at The Heights at Slippery Rock apartment complex in Slippery Rock. Police said the victim suffered minor injuries.
Bowie is charged with simple assault and harassment.
March 22 — Police charged Cory F. McDonald, 24, of Slippery Rock Township in connection with a hit-and-run crash this month in Summit Township.
McDonald is accused of rear-ending another vehicle at Route 422 and Bonniebrook Road, and driving away. The other driver was able to get the license plate number of the defendant’s pickup truck, according to court documents.
Police eventually tracked the plate to McDonald. He later allegedly admitted to the wreck.
“He reported he did not stop,” documents said, “because he did not see damage to (the other vehicle) and did not think he needed to stop.”
McDonald is charged with hit-and-run, failing to stop and give information or render aid after an accident, driving a vehicle without insurance, driving at an unsafe speed, following too closely to another vehicle and careless driving.
6:35 p.m. March 19 — Frederick W. Buehler, 59, of Winfield Township was arrested after he allegedly stole a North Carolina license plate from a vehicle at Garvin’s Scrap Metal in Winfield Township and placed it on his own vehicle.
Authorities also noted that Buehler had gone back to the scrap yard after previously being warned by police that he was not permitted there, according to court documents.
Police went to the defendant’s home where they found him with the allegedly stolen license plate.
Buehler was arraigned on charges of theft, receiving stolen property, trespass, driving with a suspended license and illegal use of a license plate. He was placed in the Butler County Prison following arraignment.
March 16 — Police charged an Armstrong County man with drugged driving and having marijuana during a safety checkpoint last month in East Butler.
The defendant, Garion L. Koziar, 31, of Worthington, appeared to be impaired when he was stopped Feb. 28, according to court documents, and he had marijuana and a pipe in the vehicle. Police found those items in the center console.
He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results indicated he had marijuana in his system.
Koziar is charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and careless driving.
March 16 — Joseph G. Zampini, 70, of Franklin Township was charged with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop this month in Franklin Township. Police stopped him about 2:30 a.m. March 4 for making a pair of sweeping turns on Dick and Election House roads.
Zampini admitted that he had consumed “a few beers,” according to court documents. He subsequently failed field sobriety testing and was taken for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.123 percent.
He is charged with DUI, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
March 16 — Jacob K. Belles, 22, of Petrolia was charged with having marijuana and other drug contraband stemming from a car wreck this month in Fairview Township.
Police said they were called for the crash about 12:35 a.m. March 10 in Hooker Road just east of Fir Road. But when they got there, no one was around the car, which was over a small embankment. The car had damaged a utility pole guide wire.
In the car, police said, troopers found suspected marijuana and other items including a bong, grinder and rolling papers.
The license plate number showed Belles was the owner, court documents said. Police later spoke to the defendant, who recounted that he had been driving from his girlfriend’s house and smoked marijuana.
Police charged Belles with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, hit-and-run, failing to stop and give information after an accident, driving an unregistered vehicle, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
