Butler Police
12:58 p.m. Saturday — Cynthia J. Halin, 61, of Summit Township was hurt when the car she was driving collided with another car at Center and Glenn avenues.
Halin, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Dennis L. Ray, 60, of Butler was the other driver.
6:38 p.m. Friday — A 64-year-old Butler man who uses a walker was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital after he was knocked to the ground while getting out of a car on Wyle Avenue. Robert D. Peterman suffered a cut above the right eye and he complained of pain in the left hip.
Peterman was injured while getting out of the front passenger seat of a car driven by Michael G. Watt, 38, no known address. Watt had given the older man a ride home. As Peterman was between the door and car, Watt backed up a few feet and the passenger side door hit him, knocking him down.
According to a police report, Watt drove away, traveling south on Wyle Avenue. Police said Watt faces charges of hit-and-run.
3:19 p.m. Friday — Billy C. Gray, 72, of Saxonburg was hurt when a car he was driving and another car collided at Hansen Avenue and Renaissance Drive. Gray, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered unknown injuries. Charles P. Regis, 60, of Butler was the other driver,
Butler Township Police
Friday — Richard D. Wissinger, 25, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop at 5:05 p.m. Jan. 30 on Fairfield Lane.
In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Wissinger is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving and driving without rear lights.
Buffalo Township Police
2:28 p.m. Saturday — Three people were hurt in a crash on South Pike Road. A police report was not immediately available and the names of the injured were not known. One person was taken to UPMC St. Margaret in Pittsburgh and two others were taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County.
Buffalo Township and Sarver volunteer firefighters assisted police at the scene. Emergency crews remained at the scene until nearly 4:30 p.m.
State Police, Butler
2:44 a.m. Sunday — An unknown burglar made off with about $150 in quarters after breaking into a coin machine at Cindy’s Place Laundromat on North Main Street in Chicora.
2:03 a.m. Sunday — A car crashed into a ditch on Glade Mill Road in Clinton Township. An accident report was not immediately available.
9:16 p.m. Saturday — A sport utility vehicle crashed into a yard on Route 68 near St. Joe Road in Oakland Township. An accident report was not immediately available.
4:20 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Charles F. McNany, 47, of Emlenton rear-ended another pickup on Route 38 in Washington Township.
Moments before the wreck, according to a police report, McNany encountered a snow squall that limited visibility. Police said he was cited for driving too fast for conditions. Jeffery S. Wilson, 51, of Reynoldsville, Jefferson County, was the other driver.
4 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by David E. Harris Jr., 37, of Boyers struck the back of an SUV on Route 108 in Slippery Rock Township. The other driver, Alyssa M. Slade, 24, of New Castle was slowing down and pulling off the road because of blowing snow.
Police said Harris was cited for driving too closely to another vehicle.
1:55 p.m. Saturday — An unidentified Toyota Tundra rear-ended a car on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. The collision forced the car driven by Jeremy W. Hays, 21, of Cranberry Township into a spin before the vehicle struck a guardrail.
The unknown driver of the pickup did not stop after the crash. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
State Police, Clarion
8 a.m. Thursday — Oriana R. Pawluk, 31, of Rimersburg was hurt when she lost control of her sport utility vehicle on snow and ice and crashed over a steep embankment, hitting a tree along Zanot Road just east of Miller Farm Road in Toby Township.
Pawluk, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Clarion Hospital with minor injuries.
State Police, Kittanning
11:15 a.m. Saturday — A Westmoreland County man was arrested after allegedly threatening an out-of-state couple with a handgun during a domestic dispute at a home on Pine Ridge Road in South Buffalo Township. No injuries were reported.
Police said John Wood III, 54, of New Kensington pointed a .380-caliber pistol at William and Sharon Dato, both of North Carolina.
Wood was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and reckless endangerment. He was placed in the Armstrong County Jail following arraignment.
Friday — Police arrested Katherine E. Duncan, 35, of Ford City following the investigation into a vehicle stolen Jan. 13 from Guthrie Road in Manor Township. Troopers said Duncan was later found with the stolen property.
She was arraigned on a felony charge of receiving stolen property and misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence. Police also cited her for disregarding traffic lanes.
Following arraignment, Duncan was placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $15,000 bail.
State Police, Mercer
Friday — Police obtained a felony arrest warrant for Kevin L. McFadden, 46, of Mercer, stemming from last year’s thefts of a wood chipper from Butler County and a tractor from Clarion County.
The stolen items were found Feb. 3 at a home in Liberty Township, Mercer County.
The industrial wood chipper, which had been stolen shortly after Christmas from Venango Township, was hidden in a wooded area. The Oliver 550 tractor, owned by T.W. Kahle Equipment of Knox, was in a garage. The tractor was stolen from the equipment dealership in October.
Police said they determined that McFadden had sold the stolen property to the Liberty Township homeowner. McFadden is charged with two felony counts of receiving stolen property.
Anyone with information about McFadden’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.
9:08 p.m. Wednesday — Icy road conditions were blamed for a one-car accident that injured a Harrisville woman and child in Worth Township, Mercer County.
Samantha E. McCoy, 23, lost control of the car on Bradley Road just north of Brown Road and slid into a snow embankment, rolling the vehicle onto its roof.
Two passengers, Jessica Shellhammer, 23, and an infant girl, were taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries. Shellhammer was wearing a seat belt and the infant was in a child safety seat.
Jan. 11 — An unknown thief stole the mailbox from a home’s wooded post on Old Ash Road in Springfield Township. The mailbox was found several days later on Millbrook Road.
