Butler Police1:26 a.m. Sunday — Donnie A. Johnson, 43, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving on North Chestnut Street. Police said the suspect smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests.A breath test later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.167 percent, according to court documents, more than twice the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit.Johnson is charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspected license, driving with a suspended vehicle registration and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.7:33 p.m. Saturday — Christopher J. Diaz, 27, of Forward Township was allegedly caught with suspected drugs and other contraband after police found him passed out in a vehicle in the 300 block of East Jefferson Street.In his lap, court documents said, were several empty stamp bags of suspected heroin. In his hand, officers found two full bags of suspected heroin. Police also recovered a syringe that was on the passenger seat.After he awakened, police said, Diaz admitted using heroin. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.
Butler Twp. Police2:33 a.m. Tuesday — Police found Herbert L. Hatfield Jr., 35, of Butler passed out on drugs in the middle of the parking lot at the Greater Butler Mart on Route 8 south. Once he came to, a police report said, he admitted taking drugs. He is charged with public drunkenness.2:03 a.m. Tuesday — John David Rob, 26, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a 38-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl during a domestic dispute at his home in the 600 block of Hansen Avenue in Lyndora. Police were called after neighbors reported yelling and screaming coming from the suspect’s house.Rob was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, two counts each of simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment, and disorderly conduct. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail following arraignment.8 p.m. Monday — Mark J. Leitsch, 33, of Butler allegedly swiped a package of diapers at the Butler Commons’ Walmart that he promptly returned for a fraudulent refund of $19.77. He is charged with misdemeanor counts of theft by deception and receiving stolen property.2:15 a.m. Saturday — Leon R. Dean Jr., 32, of Butler lost control of his pickup truck and struck a guardrail on Litman Road near Litman Grove Lane. Police said he drove away after the wreck.Dean is charged with hit-and-run, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, driving at an unsafe speed, failing to keep right and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.
State Police, ButlerSaturday — Police arrested Jeremy Craig Combs, 32, of Franklin Township on charges he used his mother’s credit card, without her permission, to rack up $10,387 in unauthorized purchases and cash advances between Aug. 13 and Oct. 6.Combs also allegedly forged and cashed two checks belonging to his mother for a combined $310, according to court documents.The defendant, who is free on his own recognizance, is charged with a felony count of access device fraud and a misdemeanor count of forgery.2:49 a.m. Oct. 11 — Robert J. Buck, 48, of Boyers was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Route 8 and Mercer Road. A breath test showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.118 percent, according to a police report. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
Butler County DetectivesOct. 14 — An inmate was charged with threatening a former girlfriend during some of the hundreds of telephone calls he made to her cell phone from the Butler County Prison between Sept. 3 and Oct. 6.In all, according to court documents, Christopher Michael Miller, 28, of Butler, while jailed on a bench warrant, made 725 calls to the woman’s cell phone and 10 other calls to her workplace near Chicora.Investigators said during some of the recorded calls, the defendant threatened the woman’s life when he got out of prison. Diaz is charged with terroristic threats and harassment.
State Police, Kittanning2:33 a.m. today — A 31-year-old Templeton woman, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence in Kittanning. Police said they stopped the woman at Reynolds and Oak avenues after noticing she had no working rear lights
State Police, Mercer11:50 p.m. Friday — Two boys, ages 16 and 17, escaped from George Junior Republic juvenile detention facility in Pine Township, Mercer County.
