Wednesday — Two Butler men were charged in connection with a shoplifting incident last month at the Game Stop store at Butler Commons.Michael E. Karch, 34, is accused of stealing $440 in merchandise from the store. He ran out and got into the car driven by 25-year-old Adam M. Spinner. A witness provided police with information about the getaway car. Officers later found the vehicle on Sixth Avenue.Both suspects are charged with retail theft, conspiracy to commit retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police also cited Spinner for driving with a suspended license.Wednesday — Police charged Aaron A. Arnold, 51, of Butler with stealing another man's order at the Home Depot at Moraine Pointe Plaza on May 8. Arnold claimed the order and made a partial return of it to get a gift card.The suspect failed to provide the alleged victim with the gift card or the remaining items of the order. Arnold is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.

4:58 a.m. Wednesday — A tractor-trailer hauling containers of corrosive materials crashed into a guardrail and rolled onto its side on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. The Butler County Hazardous Materials Team was called to clean up the spill from the containers and the rig's fuel tank.The driver, Dennis E. Harman, 62, of Helena, Ohio, was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.Police also noted that a pickup truck driven by Wally L. Lowe, 69, of Stahlstown, Westmoreland County, was damaged by debris that fell from the rig.Portersville and Harmony volunteer firefighters assisted police at the scene.Tuesday — Two Parker men were arrested on charges they broke into a storage building and stole $1,700 in tools and equipment at a lawn mower repair shop in northern Butler County earlier this year.Blake A. Lowers, 21, and Randy M. Weckerly, 19, admitted to the crime between June 26 and July 26 at Charles Blauser's property on Sweezy Road in Allegheny Township, according to court documentsWeckerly told investigators that he and Lowers “scrapped” the stolen items, including lawn mowers, weedeaters and motors, at a scrap yard for about $100.Both defendants were arraigned on charges of burglary conspiracy to commit burglary, trespass and theft. Each is free on his own recognizance.2:03 a.m. Saturday — Koltan W. Cahall, 19, of Harmony was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck got stuck in a wooded area on Semiconon Lane in Connoquenessing Township.Friday — Police charged David M. Tresky, 35, of Evans City with allegedly vandalizing a pickup truck belonging to his estranged wife's boyfriend in Clay Township on Sept. 9.Tresky is accused of driving to Jefferey Csurilla's home on Davis Road and tampering with the transmission shifter cable of Csurilla's pickup. Then the suspect got back into his own truck and deliberately drove into the victim's pickup.“Tresky pushed Csurilla's truck out of the driveway (and into a tree on the other side of Davis Road,” a police affidavit said. The defendant also drove through the victim's yard, causing $1,269 in damage. The damage to Csurilla's truck is estimated at $960.Tresky is charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

7:38 p.m. Tuesday — Kaitlin E. Cousins, 20, of Ford City was hurt when the sport utility vehicle she was driving rear-ended another SUV in Manor Township. The other driver, Kevin P. Eberle, 39, of Hawthorn, Clarion County, had slowed down for deer crossing Route 66 when his vehicle was hit.Cousins, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township with moderate injuries. She was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
