Butler PoliceFriday — Police charged Colton E. Cumberland, 21, of Washington Township with having three empty stamp bags of heroin at a traffic stop Oct. 12 in the 300 block of Liberty Street. He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.Butler Township PoliceMonday — Joshua J. Greynolds, 41, of Butler was charged with drunken driving in connection with a hit-and-run wreck at 12:09 a.m. Dec. 25 on Reiber Road.In addition to driving under the influence, Greynolds is charged with hit-and-run, failing to immediately notify police of an accident and giving false information to police.Monday — Police charged Kevin C. Moon, 44, of Butler with DUI stemming from a one-vehicle crash last month at Butler Memorial Hospital. Police said he was intoxicated about 7:20 p.m. Dec. 27 when his vehicle struck and got stuck on a curb.Moon is charged with driving under the influence, driving without insurance and disregarding traffic lanes.1:59 p.m. Saturday — A domestic dispute on Colonial Avenue led to charges against Matthew A. Gibson, 32, of Butler for false identification to law enforcement authorities and driving with a suspended license.12:21 p.m. Saturday — A vehicle driven by Richard A. Gavula, 69, of Butler struck d another vehicle on Meridian Road. The other driver, Robin Gabel, 41, of Fort Thomas, Ky., was stopped to turn left into a driveway.No injuries were reported but Gavula’s vehicle had to be towed. Police cited him for driving at an unsafe speed.8:03 a.m. Saturday — No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash that happened when Gary L. Clark Jr., 43, of New Castle ran a red light at Route 356 and Alameda Park Road. Clark’s vehicle struck a car driven by Bernice Goppner, 74, of Lyndora.Goppner’s vehicle had to be towed. Police cited Clark for the red light violation and driving with improper tires.3:18 p.m. Friday — Two students were arrested for fighting at Butler Intermediate High School. The students, both boys, were cited for disorderly conduct.
Grove City PoliceMonday — Police charged Courtney D. Braho, 23, of Edinburg, Lawrence County, with stealing money at an apartment in the 300 block of South Broad Street in November when she worked there as a caregiver for the tenant.She is charged with two misdemeanor counts each of theft and receiving stolen property. She was arraigned on the charges and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.Monday — Sarah M. Bess, 23, of Grove City was charged with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop about 7:21 p.m. Jan. 17 in the borough.In addition to driving under the influence, Bess is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving with an open container of alcohol, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.Saturday — An unknown vandal used a sharp instrument to damage a 2011 Nissan Armada that was parked in the 100 block of South Broad Street. The vandalism happened between 6 p.m. Friday and 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.Thursday — Police charged Jacob F. Best, 19, for allowing his dog to run loose and attack another dog near his home in the 300 block of College Avenue. Best was cited for failing to confine his dog.Jan. 17 — A 15-year-old girl allegedly threatened another person on a Grove City School District van. The girl, who police did not identify, is charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.
State Police, Butler 5:35 p.m. Monday — A burglary was reported at a 55-year-old woman’s home on Kelly Road in Worth Township. The unknown burglar took unspecified property from the house. Police said the investigation continues.3:46 p.m. Monday — An 11-year-old boy with a learning disability had to be removed from a school bus after causing a disturbance in Worth Township.The bus driver pulled over when the boy, who is from Franklin, Venango County, became “agitated” and unruly, according to a police report. The child’s mother was notified and she came and got her son. No injuries were reported.Monday — Raymond T. Maloney, 19, of Cranberry Township was charged with having drug contraband at a traffic stop last year. Police said he was a passenger in the vehicle that was pulled over on Route 68 near Duffy Road in Butler Township.Maloney is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
State Police, KittanningMonday — Police reported they have a suspect in an ongoing investigation into a burglary earlier this month at a home in East Franklin Township. The suspect, who police only identified as a 56-year-old white man, on Jan. 3 broke into the house at Route 268 and Montgomery Road.The burglar pried open a gun safe but nothing apparently was stolen. Damage to the property, however, was estimated at between $500 and $600.
State Police, MercerSaturday — Police are investigating a suspected drunken driving crash on Route 208 just west of Tri County Lane in Pine Township, Mercer County. A police news release provided no other information, including the driver’s name, and only noted that the investigation continues.10:31 a.m. Jan. 9 — Troopers recovered a vehicle that was reported stolen from Walker County in Georgia. The vehicle, owned by a 39-year-old woman, was towed and Georgia authorities notified.Police identified the suspected thief as a 42-year-old man from East Ridge, Tenn.
State Police, New Castle10:47 p.m. Sunday — Joseph A. Kelosky, 31, of Ellwood City allegedly brandished a knife and threatened to kill a man and woman during an altercation at a home in the 500 block of Portersville Road in Perry Township, Lawrence County.Police said Kelosky, after pulling the knife, shoved the man to the ground and punched him in the face. When another man there tried to break up the fight, the suspect shoved him to the ground, too.Kelosky fled and was gone by the time police got there. He is charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.
