1 a.m. Saturday — A 14-year-old Butler girl was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital after she possibly suffered a bad reaction from smoking marijuana. Police said someone found the girl vomiting on the sidewalk in front of a home on Hickory Street and called 911.

The teen told the caller that she was “high.” She later admitted smoking marijuana. The girl was unable to maintain her balance and at one point fell after emergency crews got there.

Butler Ambulance Service medics tended to her before she was taken to the hospital. No other information was immediately available.

6 p.m. Thursday — Teri Lynn Mulneix, 38, no known address, allegedly assaulted her boyfriend, 48-year-old Bryant Wells Sr., during a domestic dispute at a friend’s house on the 700 block of Center Avenue.

Wells flagged down an officer about 2:40 a.m. Friday and reported the assault. He told police he did not have a cell phone to call 911 sooner, according to court documents.

Wells told police that Mulneix punched him in the face, causing a cut on his lip. He said he did not retaliate and left the home.

Police later got an arrest warrant to Mulneix on a charge of simple assault.

9:05 a.m. Monday — Richard E. Walker, 54, of Butler was charged with taking $40 that a customer accidentally forgot to take from a self-checkout register at the Butler Commons’’ Walmart.

The shopper told police she used the self-service checkout and requested “cash back.” She got distracted and left the money behind, according to a police report.

When she returned, the money was gone. The store provided police with surveillance video that identified Walker as the suspect who took the money. He is charged with theft of mislaid property.

1:45 p.m. Wednesday — Selena Howes, 21, of Butler lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a fence outside of Butler Township Park on South Duffy Road. Police cited Howes for careless driving and driving with worn tires.

8:53 a.m. Sept. 23 — Three people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash at Route 422 and Greenwood Drive. The collision happened when a vehicle driven by Gerard Uhrinek, 40, of Greensburg, Westmoreland County pulled from a stop sign in front of the other vehicle.

Uhrinek and his passenger, James Horchak, 46, of Youngwood, Westmoreland County, and the other driver, Karl Roxbury, 39, of Prospect, suffered minor injuries. Police cited Uhrinek for a stop-sign violation.

Sept. 26 — Ryan H. Sefton, 38, of Jefferson Township was charged with being more than 2½ times over the legal limit for alcohol stemming from a suspicious vehicle call earlier in the month.

By the time police got to the vehicle, which Sefton parked on Columbus Way, about 12:15 p.m. Sept. 5, he was gone. Officers found an open beer can in the front cup holder, according to court documents.

Police eventually found the defendant walking from the Dollar General store on nearby West Main Street, carrying bags. He admitted having had two beers that day, documents said.

He was arrested after failing a field sobriety test and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology reports showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.207 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

Sefton is charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle with suspended registration, driving a vehicle without both insurance and valid inspection, and driving with an open container of alcohol.

Sept. 26 — Shelby M. Kildoo, 20, of New Castle was charged with having marijuana while riding with a 17-year-old girl on West Water Street at Friedman’s supermarket.

Police said they stopped Kildoo driving a sport utility vehicle about 2:40 p.m. Sept. 18 for not having an inspection sticker on the windshield. Officers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to court documents.

She and her passenger, the 17-year-old from Winfield Township, handed over both a jar with suspected marijuana residue in it, a grinder with suspected marijuana seeds on it and a marijuana pipe.

A search of the vehicle turned up additional drug contraband and an unopened can of beer, documents said.

Kildoo is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana, corruption of minors, underage possession of alcohol and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.

Police contacted the mother of the Winfield girl, who was advised that she would be receiving unspecified charges in the mail.

Wednesday — Police charged a Mercer County man with driving on drugs with a small child in his car in September in Muddy Creek Township

The suspect, Antonio D. Gibson, 33, of Farrell, also was speeding and his license was previously suspended about 8:35 p.m. Sept. 1 when he was stopped for going 75 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 422 east near the South Shore on-ramp.

[naviga:h3]State Park Rangers[/naviga:h3]

9 p.m. Sept. 20 — Ian S. McCue, 28, of Renfrew was caught with suspected marijuana and other contraband at Moraine State Park in Brady Township.

A ranger for the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources found McCue while checking fishermen at the park’s Upper 528 Boat Launch.

The officer noticed what appeared to be a marijuana pipe in the cup holder of McCue’s chair, according to court documents. He eventually handed over the pipe and suspected marijuana, which was in his tackle box.

McCue was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

12:35 a.m. Sept. 23 — Ryan M. Waller, 35, of Prospect was arrested for driving under the influence in Prospect. Police said they stopped his car after it crossed the center double yellow lines on Route 488.

Police said Waller later failed to use his turn signals when he turned left onto Route 528, where he again crossed the center line.

He admitted drinking and subsequently failed field sobriety tests. A breath test showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.095 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

In addition to DUI, Waller is charged with careless driving, disregarding traffic lanes and the turn signal violation.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]

10:25 a.m. Sunday — Two people were injured and a portion of Interstate 80 was closed after a two-vehicle wreck in Wolf Creek Township.

The crash happened when Elizabeth J. Brown, 76, of North Reading, Mass., lost control of her westbound sport utility vehicle, which crossed the median and traveled into the eastbound lanes, hitting the left side of a tractor-trailer driven by Paul M. Sherrod, 50, of Lufkin, Texas.

Brown was briefly trapped and had to be rescued. She and her passenger, Richard P. Brown, 80, also of North Reading, were taken by ambulance to an unspecified hospital with unknown injuries. Sherrod was not hurt. All three occupants in the crash were wearing seat belts.

Both vehicles had to be towed and eastbound traffic was shut down for about an hour following the wreck.

Assisting police were Pine Township and Clintonville volunteer firefighters, Superior Ambulance and the state Department of Transportation.
