Philly man charged with delivering drugs

A Philadelphia man is facing drug charges following an incident Friday in the parking lot of a hotel in Butler Township.

Sebastyian Elquan Lebron, 36, was charged with a felony count of possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor charges of possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Butler Township police said an officer followed a car following it being stopped by Butler city police officers shortly before 2 a.m., who were investigating for potential violations of state drug laws.

The officer saw the car enter a hotel parking lot and got out of his patrol vehicle and hid to get a better view of the car.

A man, later identified as Lebron, walked through the lot to the car and the officer followed. Lebron approached the vehicle, reached inside and then walked toward the hotel entrance, according to the affidavit.

After the officer placed Lebron in custody, he checked the hotel room where he was staying with his girlfriend, but no one was there. He placed evidence tape over the door while he waited for a search warrant, according to the affidavit.

Lebron was searched and allegedly found in possession of $140. A search of the hotel room after the warrant arrived found a sandwich bag containing suspected crack cocaine “the size of a golf ball” and an inhaler, a sandwich bag containing two and half oxycodone pills, a sandwich containing a small amount of marijuana, cash, an iPhone and other items, according to the affidavit.

The car the officer followed to the hotel was pulled over by other officers. The occupants said they met Lebron at the hotel to buy an “eight ball” of crack, but threw it out of the car window before police pulled them over, according to the affidavit.
