Butler Township police have filed charges against a Lyndora man following a confrontation with a neighbor.

Police filed misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct against Damon Michael Wentzel, 30, on May 19 for an incident that took place April 23.

In a criminal complaint, police said a woman reported that she got into an argument with Wentzel while she went to move her car that was parked in an alley between the 400 and 500 blocks of Bessemer Avenue.

She said they were yelling at each other when he threatened to beat up her boyfriend and made some vague threats toward her, police said.

She told police Wentzel continued yelling at her as she walked away. When she returned home, two juvenile female witnesses told her that Wentzel was waiving a gun around while she walked to her car, police said.

According to police, Wentzel said he had a launcher on his porch during the argument and that he picked it up, but he did not point it at or threaten anyone with it.

Police said the launcher is designed to shoot projectiles the size of paintballs. The launcher, which looks like a tactical firearm, was fully loaded with “kinetic” rounds and a CO2 cartridge and was ready to fire, police said.

He told police that two shots would “stop someone in their tracks.”
