Police Reports

The following items have been collected from various police departments and district courts:

Adams Twp

March 23 — James A. McCrea, 42, of Mars, was charged with misdemeanor unlawful restraint and summary harassment. Police said he wrestled someone to the ground and prevented them from leaving a residence.

Butler City

March 26 — Aaron J. Baysek, 49, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault. Police said he punched someone in the side and pushed them onto the ground, fracturing their rib.

Butler Twp

March 24 — Jason R. Kloss, 42, of New Castle, was charged with six counts of misdemeanor theft. Police said he left Lowe’s with nearly $600 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

March 24 — Cheyene L. Goodin, 25, and Gilbert E. Smith, 43, both of Bruin, were charged with misdemeanors use and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said a pipe and 10 stamp bags were found in their vehicle.

March 23 — Amanda R. Wadsworth, 44, of Butler, was charged with felony theft and misdemeanors use and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said she left Walmart with $178 worth of merchandise without paying for it and was found with Xanex, a crack pipe and digital scale.

March 23 — Jon P. Neely, 34, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanors theft and use and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said he left Walmart with $130 worth of merchandise without paying for it and was found in possession of three syringes, a crack pipe and small baggies.

March 23 — Nicholas Casanova, 28, of Butler, was charged with two counts of felony theft. Police said he left Lowe’s with $2,548 worth of merchandise without paying for it while he was employed there.

March 23 — Raymond A. Schnur, 54, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanors corruption of minors, disorderly conduct and simple assault and summary harassment. Police said he was involved in a fight at the Lyndora Hotel.

State police, Butler

March 28 — Khalif E.D. Rippy, 23, of Butler, was charged with felony drug sales and misdemeanor use and possession of drug paraphernalia for three incidents. Police said on August 17, 19 and 23 of 2021, Rippy sold methamphetamine to confidential informants.

March 27 — Tristan A. Zimmerman, 29, of Ford City, was charged with a felony and misdemeanor of a false written statement. Police said he answered a question inaccurately when applying to purchase a firearm at Rural King in Center Township.

March 27 — Rodger E. Shelatree, 58, of Butler, was charged with felony drug sales and misdemeanor use and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said he sold crack cocaine to a confidential informant.

March 27 — Khalil H. Rippy, 42, of Butler, was charged with felony drug sales and misdemeanor use and possession of drug paraphernalia for four separate incidents. Police said on July 26 and 28, Aug. 2, and Nov. 4 of 2021, Rippy sold methamphetamine and crack cocaine to confidential informants.

March 23 — Michael R. Sparks, 35, of Lyndora, was charged with three counts each of misdemeanor terroristic threats and simple assault. Police said he threatened multiple people via Facebook Messenger.

March 23 — Melissa M. Hensel, 50, of Butler, was charged with five misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence after police said they stopped her Feb. 3 on Mercer Road, Center Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed she was impaired, and a later blood test showed Hensel’s blood alcohol content at 0.099% with traces of THC. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%

March 23 — Jay M. Smith, 28, of Rural Valley, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI and several traffic citations after police said they stopped him March 17 on Route 422, Clearfield Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later breath test showed Smith’s blood alcohol content at 0.086%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

March 23 — Brady T. Ealy, 19, of Creekside, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor DUI and unauthorized use of motor vehicles after police said he crashed his vehicle Feb. 12 on Main Street, Bruinh. Police said he admitted the truck he was driving wasn’t his and showed signs of impairment. A later blood test showed Ealy’s blood alcohol content at 0.153%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.
