Tasso Sfanos added 19 points and Ryan Ceh 17 in the non-section win, which snapped a two-game skid for the Planets (11-4).

Hickory 62, Slippery Rock 50 — The second and fourth quarters, in which they were outscored 37-21, doomed the Rockets.

Dylan Gordon’s 13 points paced Slippery Rock and Levi Prementine scored 10.

Girls Basketball

Moniteau overwhelmed host Clarion-Limestone, 63-38, with Davina Pry posting 17 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks for the Warriors (12-3).

Catherine Kelly contributed 15 points and Kendall Sankey 12 in the victory, the sixth straight for Moniteau. Both players added four steals.

Karns City 38, Keystone 33 (OT) — Shae Pistorius hit a free throw with 10 seconds left in regulation to tie the game and the Gremlins outscored the Panthers 7-2 in the extra period.

KC (10-5) received 12 points from Brooklynn Taylor and 10 courtesy of Emma Dailey.

Armstrong 57, Seneca Valley 36 — Emerson Peffer led the Raiders (4-12) with 11 points in this loss to the visiting River Hawks.

Forest Area 36, A-C Valley 28 — Keira McVay scored 14 points and added three assists for the Falcons (0-17). Ava Snyder tallied 10 rebounds.

Butler 797-51x, Penn-Trafford 796-54x — The Golden Tornado edged the Warriors.

Hockey

Jaxson Read and Alec Malichky scored two goals each Monday night as Seneca Valley defeated Cathedral Prep, 5-1, on Senior Night. Jacob Komaniak scored a goal as well.

Goaltender JD Nichols had 18 saves.

The PIHL All-Star Game is this weekend with five Raiders selected: captains and seniors Read, Malichky and Jack Smelscer, juniors Nichols and Jonathan Leishman.
