These items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
Feb. 14 — Collin J. Smith, 23, of Mars, was charged with DUI, following a Jan. 29 vehicle crash on the 300 block of Broadstone Drive.
Police said Smith ran his vehicle into a legally parked vehicle. Police said they had difficulty speaking with Smith, who suffered head trauma, but an EMT told officers he believed Smith was drunk.
Police said a later blood test showed Smith’s blood-alcohol content at 0.249%, and in Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
Feb. 17 — Melissa M. Cammisa, 36, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor drug possession related to a search warrant in the 700 block of South Main Street, Butler.
Police said they found suspected heroin and crack cocaine in Cammisa’s clothes and more suspected heroin in her closet.
Feb. 15 — Tyler J. Zabicki, 29, of Renfrew, was charged with felonies of theft and possessing stolen property, related to a gun stolen during UPS transit.
Police were called by UPS who reported one of its employees had stolen a gun from a box that was being shipped to Sportsman’s Supply in Summit Township.
Police said UPS security employees gave officers the gun and reported the employee Zabicki as the driver responsible for the theft.
Feb. 14 — Adam M. V. Attardi, 26, of New Castle, was charged with DUI, following a Feb. 6 vehicle crash on Route 19 in Zelienople.
Police found Attardi covered in blood and being treated by EMTs. Police said Attardi refused to have his blood tested. Police said two witnesses saw Attardi driving erratically before the crash.
Feb. 14 — Pauline Novotny, 51, of Mars, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault related to a Feb. 12 domestic incident on the 500 block of Cherry Street, Mars.
After arriving, police talked with Novotny’s fiance. Police said they viewed injuries to the fiance’s face consistent with his initial story that Novotny had punched him. Both the fiance and Novotny later became uncooperative with police.
Feb. 20 — Kenneth A. Kaiser, 29, of Valencia, was arrested and charged with misdemeanors simple assault and escape, related to a domestic incident at his home on the 100 block of Denny Road, Middlesex Township.
Upon arrival, police talked with Kaiser’s girlfriend. The girlfriend told police Kaiser hit her in the back of the head and yelled at her. Police said they found Kaiser on the property and he ran from them. Police said after a brief chase, they caught him.
Feb. 20 — Nathan C. Anthony, 33, of Saxonburg, was charged with misdemeanors DUI, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, related to a reported disturbance Feb. 19 at an apartment on the 100 block of Pittsburgh Street.
Police said that when they arrived they found Anthony asleep in his vehicle. Police said Anthony then fled into the apartment. Police said they eventually gained access and found Anthony to be impaired.
Police said a later breath test showed Anthony’s blood-alcohol content at 0.138%, and in Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
Feb. 15 — Tevin D. Mitchell, 28, of Pittsburgh, was charged with DUI, stemming from a Feb. 11 traffic stop on North Elm Street, Butler.
Police stopped the vehicle for an expired registration. Police said Mitchell appeared impaired during a field sobriety test and a drug evaluation. Police said Mitchell refused to have his blood tested.
Feb. 15 — Brodie J. Harris, 24, of Boyers, was charged with DUI, following a crash Feb. 12 on Mercer Street near Maryland Avenue, Butler.
Police said the vehicle was driving behind their cruiser, when they saw it swerve and hit a concrete barrier. Police said field sobriety tests showed Harris was impaired. Police said a later breath test showed a blood-alcohol content of .200%, and in Pennsylvania, a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
Feb. 17 — Daria M. Kuriger, 58, of Cokeburg, was charged with DUI, stemming from an encounter with police Jan. 15 on South Main Street, Zelienople.
Kuriger approached police to report that her purse and phone had been stolen. Police said Kuriger’s story was changing and difficult to follow. Police said field sobriety tests showed Kuriger was impaired.
