These items were collected from various police departments:
Jan. 26 — Zachery T. Shields, 22, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanors corruption of minors and giving alcohol to minors, related to an incident in December.
Police said Shields bought alcohol from Sheetz and returned to his home, where he and a 16-year-old girl drank it.
Jan. 27 — Michael A. McPherson, 32, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor making false statement during the purchase of a concealed carry permit.
Police said McPherson tried to buy the permit Jan. 7 and failed to note his criminal history on the application.
Jan. 31 — Karen L. Wulfert, 40, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanors drug retail theft, drug possession, marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession, related to an incident at Walmart in Butler Township.
Police said store employees stopped Wulfert, after she tried to leave without paying for about $57 worth of items. Police said while speaking with Wulfert, they searched her and found marijuana, empty stamp bags and a piece of meth. The meth tested positive in the field.
Jan. 31 — Keith A. Hart, 39, of Atlanta, was charged with multiple misdemeanor counts retail theft, related to items stolen in April from Lowes in Butler Township.
Police said security footage shows Hart take tools and other items valued at $319.
Jan. 31 — Kyle A. Hutchinson, 25, of Youngstown, Ohio, was charged with multiple misdemeanor counts retail theft, related to items stolen in May and June from Lowe’s in Butler Township.
Police said Hutchinson is seen on security footage stealing tools and other items on three dates. Police said the cumulative value of the items is $819.
11:57 a.m. Jan. 29 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 8 and Route 356, Butler Township.
Police said a vehicle driven by James Smith, 64, of Wexford, failed to stop for merging traffic and hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Lawrence Joseph, 69, of New Castle. Police said two people reported injuries but refused medical transport.
Jan. 26 — Erin L. Deaton, 41, of McKees Rocks, was charged with a first-offense DUI, following an Oct. 13 vehicle crash on Route 19 near Victory Drive, Cranberry Township.
Police said Deaton had crashed her vehicle into the back of a barrier construction vehicle. Police said Deaton told officers she didn’t see the truck. Police noted the truck is large, weighs more than 10,000 pounds and features a a large arrow made of lights.
Police said field sobriety tests showed Deaton was impaired, and a later blood test showed her blood-alcohol content at .353%. In Pennsylvania, a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
Jan. 28 — Daryl M. Butler, 66, of Butler, was charged with a felony and misdemeanor related to false statements made while allegedly trying to buy a gun in June 2020.
Police said at that time, Butler was denied the right to buy a 9 mm pistol at Rural King. Police said Butler failed to note his pertinent criminal record on the form.
Jan. 27 — Don M. Worley, 51, of Butler, was charged with DUI, following a Jan. 14 crash on the 500 block of Brook Court, Center Township.
Police said Worley was found drunk at the scene. Police said a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at .233%. In Pennsylvania, a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
Jan. 27 — Elizabeth A. McCarren, 31, of Butler, was charged with a second-offense DUI, stemming from a Dec. 27 traffic stop on North McKean Street, Butler.
Police said they stopped the vehicle for traffic violations and after seeing the vehicle’s owner, McCarren, had a DUI-suspended license. Police said field sobriety tests showed McCarren was impaired.
Police said a later blood test showed marijuana in McCarren’s system and a blood-alcohol content of .058%.
