Jan. 4 — Hilary M. McCrea, 32, of Chicora, was charged with a first-offense DUI following a two-vehicle crash Nov. 16 on Main Street, Lyndora.Police said a woman abandoned her vehicle and left the scene before they arrived. Police said the vehicle was registered to McCrea, and during their investigation, she then returned to the scene.Police said McCrea appeared to be intoxicated, and field sobriety tests showed she was impaired. Police said a later blood test showed amphetamine, clonazepam, methadone, morphine and fentanyl in McCrea's system.Jan. 4 — Elice M. Rodgers, 31, of Chicora, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft, related to items stolen from Walmart in Butler Township.A store employee told officers they saw Rodgers place multiple items from around the store into a gift box. The employee said Rodgers scanned other items in the cart, but did not scan any items inside the gift box.Police said there were 19 items in the box, valued at about $161.
4:13 p.m. Jan. 2 — Paul W. Snow, 63, of Butler, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor simple assault, related to a domestic incident on the 800 block of Bullcreek Road.Police said Snow's daughter told officers, she saw him kick her mother into a dresser. Police said Snow's wife told officers he had been drinking and verbally abusive to the family that day.Snow's wife also told officers about being kicked into the dresser, and police said they saw injuries consistent with her story.8 p.m. Jan. 2 — Police arrested and charged two Erie men, after they allegedly stole purses from TJ Maxx in Cranberry Township.In relation to the case, Ali M. McCoy Jr., 19, was charged with two felony counts retail theft and misdemeanor possession of stolen property, and Rayshard T.L. Johnson, 18, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of retail theft.A store employee told police they witnessed the two men leave without paying for two purses, valued at about $100 each. Jackson Township Police stopped the vehicle the men were in on Interstate 79, and police said the two purses were found in the back seat.Police said they also found various garbage bags full of merchandise in the vehicle, some of which had security devices on them.
Jan. 3 — Delmas Hayes, 26, of Butler, was charged with DUI related to a traffic stop Jan. 2 in a driveway on the 300 block of Unionville Road, Franklin Township.Police said before pulling into the driveway, they saw the vehicle swerve across lines on the road. Police said when they talked with the driver, Hayes, they smelled alcohol, and field sobriety tests showed he was impaired.Police said a later breath test showed Hayes' blood-alcohol content at 0.114%, and in Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% or greater is considered intoxicated.Dec. 31 — Jason B. Kerchersky, 35, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanors stalking, harassment, prowling and disorderly conduct, related to an incident on the 100 block of Rieger Road, Franklin Township.Police said Kerchersky was drunk, texted his former wife several messages and then drove to her home, where he parked and sat in her driveway.Police said the former wife felt unsafe with him being there.
