9:59 p.m. Dec. 28 — Bradley M. Pulling, 51, of Butler, was arrested and charged with felony robbery and misdemeanor trespassing related to an incident at the SpringHill Suites, 125 E. Jefferson St. in Butler.A hotel employee told officers Pulling was not permitted on the premises, and Pulling had stolen about $20 worth of food and fled before police arrived.Police said less than an hour later, they were called to 7-Eleven, 355 E. Jefferson St., where an employee told officers he confronted Pulling as Pulling tried to steal items. Police said Pulling tried to hit the employee and then fled to North Main Street, where he was arrested.
Dec. 30 — Brian G. Wiley, 32, of West Sunbury, was charged with a first-offense DUI related to a Nov. 29 response to a reckless driver in the Bon Aire Plaza parking lot.Police said Wiley's wife and her friend were passengers in the vehicle, but exited upon realizing he was drunk. The wife allegedly told officers Wiley drove past the two and almost hit them.Police said they saw a similar vehicle pass while they spoke with the women, and they followed it and pulled it over. Police said Wiley was driving and smelled of alcohol.Police said field sobriety tests showed Wiley was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.2%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% or greater is considered intoxicated.Dec. 27 — Richard M. Smith, 58, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI on Nov. 9 on Hansen Avenue in Butler.Police said they stopped a vehicle that tried to inappropriately maneuver around a vehicle crash. Police said Smith admitted to drinking before driving, and field sobriety tests showed he was impaired.Police said a later blood test showed Smith's blood-alcohol content at 0.016%. In Pennsylvania a level of 0.08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
Dec. 31 — Samuel J. Hernandez, 41, of Valencia, was charged with felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor DUI and unauthorized use of a vehicle, related to an incident Dec. 30.Police said Hernandez's girlfriend reported her vehicle had not been returned. Police said they found and pulled over the vehicle, and officers smelled alcohol coming from Hernandez.Police said Hernandez refused field sobriety tests and also later refused a breath test.
Dec. 30 — Lenny D. Porter Jr., 47, of Chicora, was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief, related to a Aug. 26 incident on his father's property.Police said Porter began arguing with his father, pushed his father and then picked up a bar stool and smashed it against his father's truck. Police said the damage is estimated at $3,567.Dec. 30 — William J. Bergbigler, 50, of Butler, was charged with felony and misdemeanor making of false statements, related to an attempt to buy a gun Aug. 22, 2020.Police said when asked about convictions that could involve a prison sentence of one year or more on the purchase form, Bergbigler answered “no,” but should have answered “yes.”Dec. 30 — Holly D. Bartlett, 53, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor unauthorized entry of a bus, related to an Oct. 21 report about an incident on a bus from Campbell's Bus Lines in Cherry Township.The driver told police Bartlett entered the bus and yelled. The driver said Bartlett continued to stay and yell for several minutes despite being told multiple times to exit.Dec. 29 — Brandon M. Leon, 27, of East Butler, was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct related to a Dec. 28 disturbance at a home on the 1000 block of Madison Avenue in East Butler.Police said Leon, while intoxicated, attacked his father and broke items inside and outside the home.Dec. 28 — Robert E. Allen, 30, of Saxonburg, was charged with a first-offense DUI, related to a Nov. 28 traffic stop on East Birch Street in Butler.Police said they stopped the vehicle after checking its license plate and finding Allen's license suspended. Police said they observed Allen with bloodshot eyes and constricted pupils, and field sobriety tests showed he was impaired.Police said a drug recognition evaluation also was conducted, and Allen later refused to have his blood tested.Dec. 28 — Michael G. Watt, 35, of Butler, was charged with a second-offense DUI, related to a Sept. 19 traffic stop on West New Castle Street near 13th Avenue in Butler.Police said they stopped the vehicle for turning without signaling. Police said Watt admitted to drinking and using heroin before driving, and field sobriety tests showed he was impaired.Police said Watt refused to have his blood tested, and during a later search of the vehicle an officer found five strips of LSD. Police said they also later found that Watts' license was suspended.
