These items were collected from various police departments:

Sept. 13 — Louis Partridge Batties, 39, who is homeless, was charged with simple assault relating to a Sept. 12 incident at the Quality Inn.Police said they responded to the hotel and an employee said he had been struck in the face by Batties after telling him to leave the property.7:56 p.m. Sept. 7 — Two people were arrested and charged related to the theft of items from Walmart in Cranberry Township.Brianna N. O'Malley, 25, of Butler, and Michael W. Budner, 31, of Cabot, were charged with retail theft.Police said the pair walked in with a backpack, and after placing a number of items in their cart pulled plastic shopping bags out of the backpack. Police said the two packed the goods into the bags and attempted to leave with about $400 worth of items.According to police, the two were stopped by store employees, and during their arrest officers also found drug paraphernalia in O'Malley's purse, for which she also was charged.

Sept. 15 — Sharon S. McGinnis, 50, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a Sept. 11 traffic stop on South Clearfield Road in Clearfield Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road. Police said they smelled alcohol in the vehicle, and field sobriety tests showed McGinnis was impaired.Police said a later breath test showed McGinnis' blood-alcohol content at .153%, and in Pennsylvania, a level of .08% is considered intoxicated.Sept. 15 — Billie Jo Kerle, 51, of Slippery Rock, was charged with operating a vehicle without an interlock system, related to a Sept. 12 hit-and-run crash on North Main Street Extension in Center Township.Police said the driver of the struck vehicle gave officers registration information that officers traced to Kerle's home.Police said Kerle was issued an interlock restricted driver's license, but her truck was not equipped with an interlock device, which features a breathalyzer attached to a vehicle's ignition.Sept. 9 — Edward John Velez, 52, of Sarver, was charged with a first-offense DUI, after being stopped Aug. 28 in Buffalo Township when his vehicle was allegedly weaving over the center line.Police said they stopped the vehicle and detected an odor of alcohol on Velez's breath. Police performed two field sobriety tests on Velez, who also allegedly admitted to drinking before driving.A breath sample showed Velez had a final BAC of .239%. In Pennsylvania, a level of .08% is considered intoxicated.

Sept. 14 — Jeffrey Paul Cornman, 39, of Fredericktown, was charged with possession of a controlled substance in relation to a traffic stop Sept. 4 in Buffalo Township.Police said they stopped a vehicle with inspection stickers that expired in August, in which Cornman was a passenger. Police said he was exhibiting signs of recent drug use, and in a search of the driver's purse the officer found two stamp bags Cornman said were his.
