Aug. 2 — Ashley L. Young, 36, of Cranberry Township, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a Aug. 1 traffic stop at the intersection of Warrendale Road and Route 228 in Mars.Police said they stopped the vehicle, which matched the description of a report about it driving erratically.Police said field sobriety tests showed Young was impaired, and a later breath test showed her blood-alcohol content at 0.170%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.
July 29 — Michael G. Weber, 42, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a May 21 traffic stop at the intersection of South Chestnut and West Wayne streets in Butler.Police said they stopped the vehicle because the registration was expired. Police said they smelled marijuana, and field sobriety tests showed Weber was impaired.Police said they later found a marijuana smoking pipe made out of tin foil in the vehicle.
Aug. 4 — Cindy L. Schroder, 55, of Butler, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest following an incident June 3 in Center Township.Police said they responded to calls of a possible fight, and they found Schroder, who witnesses said had been walking around the Beacon Light Trailer Park screaming and yelling for several hours.Police said that when they found Schroder, she appeared to be drunk. Police said when they confronted Schroder, she again began screaming and punching items outside her home.Police said while they arrested Schroder, she began to push away from them and resist.Aug. 3 — Matthew G. Sabich, 52, of Parker, was charged with a first-offense DUI following a July 31 vehicle crash on Kittanning Pike in Parker Township.Police said at the scene, they spoke with Sabich, who smelled of alcohol. Police said Sabich did not follow directions for a breath test, and he refused to have his blood tested.July 26 — Austin A. Maire, 19, of Butler, was charged with a felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver as well as a misdemeanor first-offense DUI following a June 11 vehicle crash on the 800-block of Whitestown Road in Connoquenessing Township.Police said they spoke with Maire, who said he swerved to avoid a deer. Police said Maire appeared nervous and later admitted to having a package of about 100 THC cartridges, used for vaping marijuana, in the trunk of his car.Police said they retrieved the package and believed Maire was under the influence. Field sobriety tests allegedly showed he was impaired. A later blood test allegedly showed marijuana was in his system at the time.
July 27 — Dewayne Molinari, 58, of Zelienople, was charged with leaving the scene of a July 10 vehicle crash at the intersection of North Clay and New Castle streets in Zelienople.Police said that at the scene of a hit and run, the woman whose car was struck was unable to give police the license plate, make or model of the other vehicle.Police said they later received a call from Butler Township Police, who said the woman later spotted the truck that hit her vehicle in the Sam’s Club parking lot.Police said Molinari is the registered owner of the vehicle, and there is photographic evidence of damage on the truck consistent with the crash.July 27 — Matthew J. Ptak, 24, of Zelienople, was charged with possessing a controlled substance, stemming from a traffic stop July 18 on the 400-block of West New Castle Street in Zelienople.Police said they stopped the vehicle because they recognized Ptak and knew he did not have a license. Police said after talking with Ptak, he admitted to using heroin earlier and to having some in the vehicle.Police said they recovered five stamp bags inside the center console.July 27 — Tracy A. Kelosky, 23, of Zelienople, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a June 14 vehicle crash at the intersection of South Main and Beaver streets in Zelienople.Police said they arrived at a construction zone where workers said a woman drove over multiple traffic cones and almost hit a worker. Police said a child was in the vehicle.Police said field sobriety tests showed Kelosky was impaired, and a later blood test showed alprazolam and buprenorphine in her system.
