June 15 — Christian M. Metzgar, 20, of Petrolia, was charged with leaving the scene of a vehicle crash May 25 on New Castle Road in Butler Township.Police said they were able to view the accident through nearby surveillance footage, and were able to identify the vehicle that drove away as Metzgar's.June 15 — Gary D. Ray, 50, of Butler, was charged with two counts of terroristic threats, which he allegedly made June 13 on Twitter.According to police, Ray posted, “My favorite is when you say I can't kill all of you for what you pulled on me. I made a list and a map. I figure I could take 50-60 of you out before a 911 call was made.”Police said multiple other complaints have come about Ray's past posts as well. Police said the complaints date as far back as 2018.Cranberry TwpJune 9 — Freedom L. Proctor, 42, of Beaufort, S.C., was charged with simple assault and harassment following a call about a disturbance at the Residence Inn on Freedom Road in Middlesex Township.Police said Proctor bit her husband during an argument about ongoing marital issues. Police said the bite had broken the husband's skin, causing bruising and bleeding.
June 11 — Isaac L. Stevenson, 22, of Butler, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, stemming from a June 9 traffic stop on Pittsburgh Road in Middlesex Township.Police said they smelled marijuana, and Stevenson denied their request to search the vehicle. Police said the vehicle was impounded, and they later conducted a search warrant, finding a bag of marijuana and a half-smoked blunt within as well as drug and alcohol-related items.
June 14 — Amie L. Shephard, 46, of Saxonburg, was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment after a dispute with her employer.Police said Shephard was in the process of being fired by her boss at Novotny's Pizza when she threw a hot pizza, estimated to be about 400 degrees, on the employer's chest. Police said multiple other employees confirmed the series of events.
June 15 — Brandon J. Keene, 74, of Parker, was charged with two counts of simple assault and one count of harassment following a June 14 incident on Walheim Road in Venango Township.Police said Keene threw his girlfriend into a wall, slapped her in the face, knocked her to the ground and dragged her around by her wrist. Police said the girlfriend had injuries consistent with this series of events.12:05 a.m. June 14 — Alexander Vargas, 30, of Franklin, was arrested and charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI, marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession following a traffic stop on North Main Street Extension in Brady Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for a broken headlight and swerving in the lane. Police said during a pat down, marijuana and paraphernalia were found in Vargas' pocket.Police said a field sobriety test showed Vargas was impaired, and a blood test was later undertaken. The results of the test were not listed in the affidavit.June 13 — Police said a black AR-15 was found on Hemlock Road in Parker Township.Police said anyone with information is asked to call the Butler barracks at 724-284-8100.1:16 p.m. June 12 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Oneida Valley Road in Washington Township.Police cited Donald S. Slabe, 40, of East Brady, with following to closely after he crashed his vehicle into the rear-end of another vehicle driven by Earl F. Fair, 87, of Karns City.No one was injured in the crash.5:12 p.m. June 11 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on William Flynn Highway in Mercer Township.Police said Lauren A. Frank, 21, of Yardley, was cited for failing to yield to a stop sign after she pulled her vehicle onto the road and was struck by a vehicle driven by Tod W. Horner, 53, of Slippery Rock.No one was injured in the crash.3:56 p.m. June 11 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 in Marshall Township, Allegheny County.Both drivers, who were not named, were cited with careless driving. No injuries were reported.Cranberry Township Police assisted because there was a road-rage incident following the crash.9 p.m. June 10 — Police were called to a Sun Mine Road home in Clinton Township for a report of an attempted theft of horses.Police said the gate was opened and the horses were found nearby.3:12 p.m. June 8 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Evans City Road in Connoquenessing Township.Police cited Dennis E. Goodwine, 19, of Butler, with speeding after his vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle driven by James E. Swift, 76, of Butler.Swift and Goodwine were taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for suspected minor injuries. A 6-year-old girl, who was Goodwine's passenger, rode in the ambulance, but was uninjured, and a passenger from Swift's vehicle was also not injured.June 7 — Police are continuing their investigation into a theft at the St. Joseph Catholic Church office building.Police said the person stole $252 in cash and a blank check before fleeing.3:56 p.m. June 7 — Police are investigating a report of property damage to a Halston Road property.Police said an ATV appears to have caused about $100 in damage to the property's landscaping.Police said anyone with information is asked to call the Butler barracks at 724-284-8100.4:10 p.m. June 4 — Police are investigating a report of a theft from a 29-year-old Renfrew woman.Police said the woman was called and told her Social Security number was compromised. Police said the caller advised the woman to obtain gift cards and to relay the card numbers and access numbers for each card. The total theft amounted to about $3,000.Police said anyone with information is asked to call the Butler barracks at 724-284-8100.9:15 p.m. June 4 — Police responded to a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 in Worth Township.Police said a vehicle driven by Scott M. Bradley, 59, of Pittsburgh, lost a tire, which struck three other vehicles. All other vehicles had only the drivers in them, including Cheryl McStay, 71, of Bristol, R.I.; James Davies, 48, of Selinsgrove; and Kasey Josselyn, 28, of Calridge.No injuries were reported among the four drivers.
