June 1 — Ashley R. Leroy, 20, of Butler, was charged with making a false report and leaving the scene of an accident that occurred May 15 on Route 228 in Adams Township.Police said Leroy left the scene of a three-vehicle crash. Police said Leroy was driving a relative's car and left the scene because she had to go to work.Police said while trying to gather information later for the report, Leroy lied about her identity and tried to pass herself off as her relative, the owner of the vehicle.May 23 — Bryan R. St. Germain, 40, of Mars, was charged with a first-offense DUI and stalking, stemming from an investigation.Police said they responded to St. Germain's home on Pointe View Drive in Mars regarding a disturbance. St. Germain's wife said the couple is in the midst of a divorce, and St. Germain had been tracking her and following her to different locations.Police said St. Germain told them he was able to do so through the family's phone plan. Police also allegedly noticed St. Germain had smelled of alcohol despite driving around to follow his wife.Police said a breath test showed St. Germain's blood-alcohol level at .188%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.
12:14 a.m. May 31 — Rebecca L. Strong, 28, of Butler, was arrested and charged with a felony, third-offense DUI as well as misdemeanor, third-offense controlled substance DUI and drug paraphernalia possession.Police said they found Strong asleep behind the wheel of her parked and running vehicle at the intersection of East Locust and Arthur streets.Police said field sobriety tests showed Strong was impaired, and they found drug paraphernalia in the car. Police said Strong submitted a blood sample at the hospital for testing. The results were not listed in the affidavit.May 30 — James E. Howard-George, 27, of Butler, was charged with simple assault following an investigation into a May 30 incident in the area of West New Castle and North Washington streets.Police said Howard-George's 17-year-old girlfriend told officers he had grabbed her by the hair and clothes, pushed her to the ground and dragged her.Police said the girl said she had pain in her face and was afraid of Howard-George.May 27 — Frank A. Ricci, 36, of Butler, was charged with receiving stolen property following a May 26 vehicle accident on Carbon Street.Police said Ricci was found near the crashed vehicle, which they discovered was stolen. Police said Ricci was arrested for the stolen vehicle as well as on a warrant by the Duquense Police Department.May 25 — Shawn W. Balantyne, 41, of Erie, was charged with felony retail theft and misdemeanor false identification to an officer related to items stolen from Dollar General in Butler.Police said they saw video surveillance showing Balantyne take items from the store, and during their investigation Balantyne gave them a false name.May 18 — Bryan R. Leonard, 37, of Butler, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident May 13.Police said Leonard was found sleeping on the couch inside an apartment where he was not permitted. Police said when they woke him, he appeared intoxicated.Police said while searching him, they found suspected heroin or fentanyl, crystal meth and drug paraphernalia.May 18 — Anthony M. McIntyre, 32, of Butler, was charged with simple assault related to an altercation he had with his fiancee.Police said the fiancee told officers McIntyre pushed her to the bed, punched her and slapped her, causing injuries. Police said they saw visible injuries to her face, arms and neck that corroborated her statements.Police said the fiancee went to the hospital for treatment.
9:01 a.m. June 5 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hindman Road in Butler Township.Police said Jacob Byers, 27, of Butler, was cited for speeding and driving with a suspended license after his vehicle rear-ended another driven by Lisa Falba, 38, of Butler. Neither driver was injured, and Byers' vehicle was towed from the scene.5:15 p.m. June 3 — Police responded to an one-vehicle crash on Dellwood Road in Butler Township.Police said Kayla Lamison, 34, of Butler, lost control of her vehicle and drove off the right side of the road. Lamison was uninjured, and her vehicle was towed from the scene.11:09 a.m. June 3 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 356 near Campus Lane.Police said Jamey Kutch, 18, of Butler, was cited for speeding after his vehicle rear-ended another driven by Meghan Lewis, 18, of Butler. Neither driver reported injuries.11 a.m. June 2 — Police said a pair of prescription glasses were found in the parking lot of Giant Eagle in Butler Township.Police said the glasses are still in good shape, and anyone who may have lost them can contact police at 724-285-9600.11:24 a.m. May 28 — Police responded to a three-vehicle crash on Route 356 near Moraine Pointe Plaza in Butler Township.Police said Kim Fisher, 65, of Renfrew, lost control of her vehicle due to a medical reason, causing the crash with a vehicle driven by Nadine Rice, 20, of Butler, and another vehicle driven by Calvin Pittman, 42, of Butler.Butler Township and Butler VA fire departments assisted at the scene with the extraction of a passenger, Sophia Pagano, 18, of Cranberry Township. Fisher, Rice and Pagano were taken by ambulance to a hospital for their injuries.12:57 p.m. May 27 — Police responded to a one-vehicle crash on Fairground Hill Road near Family Bowlaway in Butler Township.Police said Robert Ifft, 61, of Butler, lost control of his vehicle after the brakes malfunctioned. Both Ifft and his passenger, Matthew Shelatree, 23, of Butler, were taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for their injuries.Butler Township and Butler City fire departments assisted at the scene.
May 27 — Zhaojun Xie, 31, of Mars, was charged with retail theft, resisting arrest and trespassing related to stolen items at Walmart in Cranberry Township.Police said Xie tried to stash multiple items inside a trash can and leave while only paying for the trash can. Police said the value of the concealed items was about $125. Police said while arresting him for retail theft, Xie resisted and was uncooperative.
12:53 p.m. June 1 — Brady R. Moore, 19, of Cranberry Township, was arrested and charged with simple assault after an investigation into the assault of a road flagger on Camp Run Road in Lancaster Township.Police said Moore failed to yield to the flagger's directions. Police said when confronted, Moore turned around and threw a cup of ice water at the flagger while driving past.
