May 17 — Hugh B. Love, 44, of Butler, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness stemming from a Feb. 24 investigation into a disturbance at the Butler Food Mart on Center Avenue.Police said Love was found acting strangely and pacing back and forth near the store. Police said they found he was intoxicated, and after his arrest, they found one empty stamp bag and one full one in his pocket.8:42 p.m. May 12 — Donovan T. Barnes, 20, of Butler, was arrested and charged with carrying a gun without a license and possessing a controlled substance stemming from an investigation into an assault near the intersection of Zeigler Avenue and Short Street.Police said they responded to a report of three men fighting over a gun in the street, and when they arrived, they found Barnes with injuries on his face.Police said during a pat down, they found a .22-caliber pistol in Barnes' pocket and later found a substance they suspect is crack cocaine in his other pocket.

5:46 p.m. May 17 — Police responded to a one-car accident on Route 422 in Butler Township.Police said Linda Gregio, 43, of Butler, lost control of her vehicle and hit the cement barrier in the middle of the road. Neither she nor her passenger were taken to the hospital.Gregio was cited for her vehicle lacking valid inspection.May 17 — Anthony W. Degenes, 56, of Parker, was charged with a first-offense, combination drugs and alcohol DUI and a third-offense driving under a suspended license stemming from an April 16 traffic stop on Route 422.Police said they stopped the vehicle for speeding between 80 and 90 mph in a 55 mph zone. Police said Degenes told officers his license was suspended.Police said field sobriety tests indicated Degenes was impaired, and later blood test showed Degenes had a blood-alcohol content of .202% as well as cocaine in his system.Police said during a search of the vehicle, they found a small baggie of cocaine in the center console.May 14 — Eric T. Defelice, 25, of Butler, was charged with driving under a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident that occurred on April 23 near South Eberhart Road in Butler Township.Police said Defelice rear-ended another vehicle that pushed that vehicle into a third vehicle before fleeing the scene on foot.Police said they caught Defelice on Vets Club Road and that there is video surveillance showing the accident and his leaving the scene.

May 19 — Anthony P. Heitzer, 75, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from a May 9 traffic stop on Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for failing to yield to a stop sign. Police said Heitzer admitted to drinking three beers before driving. Police said a field sobriety test indicated he was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.098%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.May 19 — Police charged two following a Dec. 3 traffic stop on the Interstate 79 off-ramp onto the Turnpike.Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing the fog line twice.Police said they charged the driver, Tyler M. Pounds, 33, of Ellwood City, after they found a small amount of marijuana near his seat.Police said they charged the passenger, Sandra C. Guthrie, 32, of Koppel, after they found a small amount of crack cocaine near her seat.May 19 — Richard A. Stepp, 41, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI and possession of a controlled substance stemming from a March 30 traffic stop near the intersection of Mitchell Hill Road and Route 422.Police said they found Stepp slumped over the wheel in his car, which had the engine running and gear in reverse. Police said they could see a syringe in Stepp's right hand and an empty stamp bag in plain view.Police said Stepp was taken by ambulance for medical treatment, and while searching the vehicle they found nine stamp bags containing suspected drugs in the center console.Police said later blood testing showed benzoylegonine, meth, tramadol, fentanyl and norfentanyl in Stepp's system.May 19 — Magdalene Bucciarelli, 35, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI stemming from a March 6 traffic stop on Route 422 in Franklin Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for broken tail lights. Police said Bucciarelli admitted to using marijuana before driving.Police said field sobriety tests indicated Bucciarelli was impaired, and a later blood test showed marijuana in his system.May 19 — Joshua M. Scheer, 26, of Slippery Rock, was charged with a first-offense, combination drugs and alcohol DUI after an April 17 traffic stop on Stoughton Road.Police said they found Scheer's vehicle crashed into a tree. Police said field sobriety tests indicated he was impaired, and later blood tests showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.063%, as well as marijuana in his system. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.May 18 — Danna M. Stiffler, 40, of New Castle, was charged with false identification to an officer stemming from a March 23 traffic stop on Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for speeding at 79 mph in a 55 mph zone. Police said Stiffler gave them a false name during the traffic stop, which resulted in a citation.Police said the false information was discovered when the person whose name Stiffler used appeared in traffic court to refute the violation.May 17 — Carlo E. Morando, 30, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from a May 8 traffic stop on Benbrook Road in Butler Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing the fog lines four times. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Morando was impaired, and a later breath test showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.114%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.May 17 — Edward M. McGuire, 55, of Zelienople, was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI stemming from a Nov. 27 traffic stop on Perry Highway in Lancaster Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing the fog lines five times. Police said field sobriety tests indicated McGuire was impaired, and later blood tests showed marijuana in his system.May 17 — Kimberly M. Wheeler, 40, of Connoquenessing, was charged with a first-offense DUI after an April 29 vehicle accident on Main Street in Connoquenessing.Police said they found Wheeler's vehicle damaged with no driver. Police said Wheeler returned to the scene and talked with them.Police said field sobriety tests indicated Wheeler was impaired, and a later breath test showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.126%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.May 17 — Christopher A.W. Thomas Jr., 27, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from a May 7 traffic stop on South Benbrook Road in Butler Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing the center line. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Thomas was impaired, and a later breath test showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.207%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.

May 19 — Joshua D. Jack, 35, of Ford City, was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI stemming from an April 5 traffic stop on Route 28 in Buffalo Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for speeding at 73 mph in a 65 mph zone, and because the owner, Jack, had warrants out for his arrest. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Jack was impaired, and Jack admitted to smoking marijuana about an hour before driving.Police said blood tests later showed marijuana in Jack's system.

May 11 — Kascie A. Goettler, 25, of Zelienople, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from a May 8 traffic stop on Route 422 in Zelienople.Police said they stopped the vehicle for striking the curb multiple times while being followed. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Goettler was impaired, and a later blood test showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.226%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.
