These items were collected from various police departments:

May 11 — Cayla M. Cygan, 32, of Lyndora, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after her arrest April 23 on other charges.Police said they saw Cygan in the passenger seat of a vehicle and knew she had a warrant for her arrest. Police said while making the arrest, they found 11 stamp bags of suspected heroin, four suboxone strips, nine empty stamp bags and a capped syringe.11:06 a.m. May 10 — James A. Jasper, 29, of Erie, was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI as well as six drug offenses after following a report of a man slumped in his vehicle.Police said they followed a report to the 300 block of Franklin Street, where they found Jasper asleep at the wheel in his running vehicle. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Jasper was impaired.Police said during a search of the vehicle, they found varying amounts of suboxone strips, meth, marijuana and either LSD or acid. Police said they also found paraphernalia consistent with selling drugs as well as a switchblade knife.May 10 — Mary J. Putnam, 54, of Butler, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following her arrest March 27 on other charges.Police said they saw Putnam walking on Third Avenue and knew she had a warrant for her arrest. Police said during the arrest, they searched Putnam and found one capped syringe, one stamp bag of suspected heroin and two suboxone strips in her pockets.May 10 — Hassan L. Brack, 34, of Butler, was charged with harassment related to a May 3 incident.Police said multiple people witnessed Brack threaten to hurt a woman during an argument in a home on Negley Avenue.

8:22 p.m. May 15 — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 8 and Beech Road in Butler Township.Police said after the crash Ann Martin, 38, of Butler, was cited. Police said Martin dropped her cellphone and was trying to pick it up when her vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle driven by Kylie Sheppeck, 23, of Butler.Police said Martin was taken by ambulance to the hospital for unknown injuries. Butler Township firefighters assisted with traffic control at the scene.

May 7 — James A. Carroll III, 32, of Bakerstown, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a Jan. 6 traffic stop on South Washington Street in Evans City.Police said they stopped the vehicle because they knew its driver, Carroll, had a suspended driver's license. Police said there were multiple stamp bags of suspected heroin in plain view during the stop.Police said Carroll refused a search of his vehicle, so it was impounded and a search warrant was acquired. Police said they found varying amounts of suspected heroin, crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

May 11 — John P. Conley III, 32, of Bakerstown, was charged with simple assault and a first-offense DUI stemming from a May 10 report of a disturbance on Nancy Court in Jackson Township.Police said Conley's mother claimed he had pushed her to the ground and hit her as many as 12 times. Police said there were injuries consistent with this story.Police said Conley was arrested for simple assault, but was also intoxicated after driving to his mother's home. Police said a Drug Recognition Evaluation indicated Conley was under the influence of drugs, but Conley later refused blood testing at the hospital.

May 13 — Kevin L. Russell, 37, of Pittsburgh, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance; two counts of possessing drug paraphernalia; and one count of driving with a suspended license, all stemming from a May 10 traffic stop on Pittsburgh Road in Middlesex Township.Police said Russell's license was suspended for prior DUI convictions. Police said upon their request, Russell handed over a small black container filled with suspected marijuana. Police said Russell then refused a search of the vehicle.Police acquired a search warrant and allegedly found 59 stamp bags of suspected heroin.

May 12 — Ryan C. Gubba, 19, of Grove City, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from an April 25 traffic stop on South Main Street in Slippery Rock.Police said they stopped the vehicle for continuous use of high-beam lights. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Gubba was impaired, and later breath tests showed Gubba's blood-alcohol content at 0.122%.In Pennsylvania, a person must be age 21 or older to consume alcohol.May 12 — Rebecca L. Buckham, 33, of Slippery Rock, was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI stemming from a March 20 traffic stop on New Castle Street in Slippery Rock.Police said Buckham's license was suspended. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Buckham was impaired, and a later blood test showed meth and norbuprenorphine in her system.Police said they also searched the vehicle and found drug paraphernalia.

1:23 a.m. May 14 — Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Route 28 in Buffalo Township.Police said James P. Lundy, 55, of Reynoldsville, hit a deer. Lundy was uninjured.

2:47 p.m. May 14 — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the southbound lanes of Interstate 79 in Jackson Township.Police cited a 16-year-old girl after she attempted to change lanes and hit a second vehicle driven by Ronda K. Fawber, 56, of Meadville. The girl lost control of her vehicle and it overturned.Police said no injuries were reported.3:32 p.m. May 13 — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on North River Avenue in Parker.Police said they cited Judy Morrison, 73, of Parker, after she failed to yield for oncoming traffic while making a left turn, which caused the crash with the second vehicle driven by Margaret E. King, 19, of Bruin.Police said no injuries were reported, and King's vehicle was towed from the scene.10 p.m. May 12 — Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Perry Highway in Muddy Creek Township.Police said Leigh A. Gionta, 52, of Slippery Rock, hit a deer. The deer died, but Gionta didn't report any injuries.May 12 — Brandon J. Gurowski, 28, of Slippery Rock, was charged with theft related to illegally transferred funds.Police said Gurowski stole about $1,288 of unemployment benefits from his friend. Police said the stolen funds were over the course of four separate transactions.May 12 — Alicia G. Huber, 24, of Slippery Rock, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from a March 13 traffic stop on Route 173.Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road. Police said field sobriety and other tests indicated Huber was impaired.Police said Huber had admitted to drinking before driving.May 12 — Christa L. Savage, 51, of Pittsburgh, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from a March 31 wellness check on New Castle Road. Police said Savage was identified as the driver of a vehicle that had been reported as driving erratically. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Savage was impaired, and a breath test later showed her blood-alcohol content at 0.20%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.May 12 — Steven Tedrow, 31, of West Pittsburgh, was charged with criminal mischief and harassment stemming from an April 1 incident in Brady Township.Police said Tedrow threw an unknown object through the window of a home, then threw another unknown object through the window of a parked vehicle in front of his home on Centreville Pike.May 12 — Leroy K. Claypool, 60, of Slippery Rock, was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI after a two-vehicle crash on Route 8 in Brady Township.Police said Claypool admitted to taking medication before driving, including the use of morphine. Police said Claypool was not injured in the crash, but the passenger of the other vehicle suffered moderate injuries.Police said later blood tests confirmed the presence of morphine and oxycodone in Claypool's system that night.May 12 — Steven D. Nevel, 32, of Boyers, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from an April 24 traffic stop on Route 8 in Slippery Rock Township.Police said Nevel admitted to drinking before driving his motorcycle. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Nevel was impaired, and a breath test showed his blood-alcohol content was over the legal limit.The exact readings were not listed in the affidavit, but in Pennsylvania a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.May 12 — Eric K. Dubois, 33, of Slippery Rock, was charged with a second-offense, controlled substance DUI as well as a felony for carrying a gun without a license, stemming from a Dec. 1 traffic stop.Police said they were called to the scene of an overdose, where they found Dubois, who was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Police said they were later called to the scene of a truck stuck in a ditch without a driver present, and they found it belonged to Dubois.Police said inside the vehicle they found a loaded 7mm hunting rifle, two jars of marijuana, a meth pipe, several pill bottles with Dubois' name on them and a box of Remington .22 ammunition.4:26 p.m. May 11 — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Freeport Road in Jefferson Township.Police cited Chelsea E. Warmer, 25, after she failed to yield for oncoming traffic as she made a left turn, causing a crash with the second vehicle driven by William D. Rearick, 51, of Cabot.Police said no injuries were reported.3:28 p.m. May 11 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on New Castle Road in Worth Township.Police cited Jamie A. Leise, 48, of Slippery Rock, for failing to yield to oncoming traffic as she turned left, causing the crash with the second vehicle driven by Dana L. Opp, 63, of Portersville.Police said no injuries were reported.May 11 — Robert A. Schafer, 31, of Butler was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI stemming from an April 10 traffic stop on North Main Street in Butler.Police said they stopped the vehicle because it matched the description of 911 reports of an erratic driver. Police said they searched the vehicle and found six stamp bags of suspected heroin and six needles.Police said field sobriety tests indicated Schafer was impaired, and a later blood test confirmed fentanyl and norfentanyl were in his system.May 10 — Shandell E. Ward, 29, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI after a one-vehicle crash on Eagle Mill Road in Connoquenessing Township.Police said Ward admitted to drinking before driving, and field sobriety tests indicated she was impaired.Police said later testing of Ward's breath showed her blood-alcohol content at 0.144%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.2:30 p.m. May 4 — Police received a report of a theft by a Butler man.Police said the victim's name and Social Security number were used in the illegal claiming of unemployment compensation.Anyone with information about the situation should call the Butler barracks at 724-282-8100.12 p.m. April 21 — Police said they are investigating the report of a theft by a Butler man.Police said the man bought a fish finder valued at $445 on eBay, and he never received the item.
