May 10 — Dennis M. Denardi, 59, of Butler, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.Police said they were investigating an altercation between a woman and Denardi on April 28 when they searched and found Denardi with suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.May 10 — Robert W. Duffy, 53, of Butler, was charged with felony retail theft related to items stolen April 27 from Ace Hardware in Butler Township.Police said Duffy stole a small bottle of Rain-X valued at $4.59.May 10 — John Martucci, 63, of Butler, was charged with theft and receiving stolen property related to stolen groceries from Aldi in Butler Township on March 19.Police said Martucci took already purchased groceries from another customer's cart while that customer was in the bathroom.6:09 p.m. May 9 — Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Route 422.Police said Brandon Pizer, 17, of Blairsville, was driving between the Jefferson Street and Route 8 exits when his vehicle hydroplaned, spun out of control and hit the middle concrete barrier. No injuries were reported.5:07 p.m. May 7 — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 8.Police said Caleb Hillegrass, 32, of Imperial, merged into the right lane and struck a vehicle driven by Trenton Bastlan, 17, of Parker. Bastlan's vehicle lost control and hit an embankment. No injuries were reported.May 5 — Brandi M. Scott, 32, of Renfrew, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from an April 13 traffic stop in Butler Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing the center line. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Scott was impaired, and blood tests later showed her blood-alcohol content at 0.3%.In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.
May 5 — Bryan Depew, 43, of Valencia, was charged with indecent exposure, open lewdness and disorderly conduct stemming from an April 7 incident at Caruzin AutoHub on Route 8.Police said a woman accused Depew of flashing her. Police said the accuser was there to look at used vehicles, and Depew works at the lot.
May 6 — Jason D. Mannino, 22, of Aliquippa, and Alexis T. Raymond, 27, of Pittsburgh, were arrested and charged after a controlled prostitution setup.Police said an undercover police officer solicited Raymond's services. Raymond arrived with Mannino. Both were arrested, and inside the vehicle police said they found a loaded pistol.Both share charges of six felonies, including criminal conspiracy, illegally carrying a gun, receiving stolen property, prostitution and criminal use of communication facilities.Police charged Raymond additionally with possession of criminal instruments and a misdemeanor prostitution charge.
May 10 — Walter R. Peugh, 34, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from a May 8 traffic stop on Duffy Road in Butler Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for failing to use a turn signal. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Peugh was impaired, and a later breath test showed Peugh's blood-alcohol content at 0.226%.In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.May 10 — Peter S. Chom, 46, of Hoffman Estates, Ill., was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from a May 9 traffic stop in Butler Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Chom was impaired. Police said breath tests were conducted and were positive for DUI-levels of alcohol.The blood-alcohol content was not listed in the court documents. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.2:23 a.m. May 10 — Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township.Police said Francis L. Carroll, 53, of Erie, lost control of his tractor trailer in the southbound lanes in the area of mile marker 87. Police said the truck crossed the median and struck a guide rail and overhead sign in the northbound lanes.Police reported no injuries, and Carroll was cited for leaving the road.6:18 a.m. May 9 — Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Bonnie Drive in Summit Township.Police said Shawn M. Fulmer, 31, of Butler, was charged with speeding after he drove off the road and hit a tree. Police said Fulmer was not injured in the crash.6:44 p.m. May 8 — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Bear Creek Road in Winfield Township.Police said Breiana A. Cummings, 18, of Harwick, was cited for ignoring a stop sign. Police said Cummings pulled into the intersection, and her vehicle was hit by one driven by Christopher L. Cooper, 49, of Cabot.Cummings was taken by ambulance to a hospital for suspected minor injuries, but neither the driver nor the passenger of the other vehicle reported injuries.12:29 p.m. May 7 — Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on West Brewster Road in Center Township.Police said Zavier N. King, 21, of Oil City, was cited for speeding after he lost control of his vehicle while rounding a bend. Police said his vehicle went into the yard of a residence, striking a rock and a signpost.Police said King was not injured.May 6 — Albert J. Mastroceasare Jr., 37, of Butler, was charged with simple assault and harassment related to a May 5 altercation with his former girlfriend.Police said Mastroceasare punched his ex-girlfriend in the face. Police said the woman was holding their son in her arms, and the punch also hit the boy, which caused his lower lip to bleed.May 1 — Police are investigating multiple fraudulent purchases made through Amazon at the expense of a Connoquenessing Township resident. Police said the value of the thefts totalled about $573.
9:32 p.m. May 7 — Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Route 28 in Buffalo Township.Police said Tracy J. Sheehan, 55, of Lower Burrell, hit a deer carcass on the road. Neither Sheehan nor the passenger were injured in the crash.
