April 23 — William P. Ball, 35, of West Sunbury, was charged with lying to authorities stemming from a concealed carry permit application submitted April 9.Deputies said Ball marked on the application that he had not been convicted of any violation involving drugs. Deputies said they were informed of three prior convictions through standard background checks.April 23 — Nicklas L. Tyson, 36, of Fenelton, was charged with lying to authorities stemming from a concealed carry permit application submitted April 15.Deputies said Tyson marked on an application that he had not been convicted of any violation involving drugs. Deputies said they were informed of two prior convictions through standard background checks.

April 27 — David W. Talbert, 26, of Butler, was charged with failure to verify his address after police received an April 22 phone call from the Megan's Law unit of the state police.Police said after some investigation, they believe Talbert moved to North Carolina without notifying state police.April 26 — Dewey L. Connell, 34, of Butler, was charged with criminal mischief and public drunkenness stemming from a March 8 incident on West Jefferson Street in Butler.Police said they received a report of a man smashing a window at a home before fleeing. Police said Connell matched the description they received. Police said after arresting Connell, he admitted to smashing the window, valued at $725.3: 42 a.m. April 23 — Jeremy M. Flood, 45, of Evans City, was charged with felony strangulation as well as misdemeanors of simple assault, terroristic threats and possession of a controlled substance.Police said Flood's accuser claims he placed her in a chokehold during an argument. Police said Flood also pulled her by the hair and shoved her head against a wall before threatening to kill her.Police later arrested Flood and during that time found three suboxone strips, for which he did not have a prescription.April 22 — Loren M. Lawrence, 31, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI stemming from a single-vehicle accident March 26 on Broad Street in Butler.Police said Lawrence crashed his vehicle into a parked vehicle. Police said after a field sobriety test, they arrested Lawrence and found crack cocaine in his pocket.Police said a blood test later showed Lawrence had amphetamine, meth, cocaine, methadone and fentanyl in his system at the time of his arrest.

April 27 — Nelson S. Vasquez, 42, of Cranberry Township, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from an April 17 traffic stop on Powell Road in Cranberry Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Vasquez was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at .205%.In Pennsylvania, a level of .08% is considered intoxicated.

April 26 — Shane M. Bates, 29, of Butler, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a March 9 traffic stop on Route 8 in Penn Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for a registration violation. Police said Bates was a passenger in the vehicle, and in a search they found about 100 stamp bags of heroin hidden in his shoes.

April 27 — Gene M. Murphy, 20, of Slippery Rock, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from an April 11 traffic stop on Kiester Road in Slippery Rock Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Murphy was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.137%.In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.April 27 — Brandon L. Owens, 25, of Meadville, was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment stemming from an April 26 domestic incident at the Main Street Apartments in Slippery Rock.Police said they talked with the victim at the scene, who said Owens hit her multiple times.

April 28 — Robert E. Koffman, 52, of Rural Valley, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from an April 27 traffic stop on Dusty Lane in Oakland Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Koffman was intoxicated, and a breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.125%.In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.6:38 p.m. April 27 — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on North Main Street in Clay Township.Police said Adam E. Brandon, 20, of Harrisville, will be cited for rear-ending a vehicle driven by Holly K. Adams, 25, of Lyndora. Neither reported injuries.1:09 a.m. April 27 — Michael W. Collins, 27, of Butler, was charged with a felony of carrying a gun without a license and a first-offense, controlled substance DUI stemming from a traffic stop on Main Street in Butler.Police said they stopped the vehicle for a registration violation. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Collins was impaired, and as the Collins exited the vehicle, a 9 mm pistol was discovered in the driver's side door.Police said they arrested Collins and took him to a hospital, where he refused to have his blood tested.April 27 — Stephen A. Weber, 28, of Fombell, was charged with a first-offense, controlled substance DUI stemming from a Nov. 8 traffic stop on Hipps Terrace in Muddy Creek Township.Police said they found Weber slumped over in his vehicle, which was stationary at a stop sign. Police said Weber could not perform field sobriety tests due to a foot injury, but blood tests done later showed alprazolam, oxycodone, fentanyl and norfentanyl in his system.April 27 — Steven Tedrow, 31, of Ellwood City, was charged with simple assault, stalking and harassment stemming from an April 22 call to police.Police said when they arrived at a Centreville Pike home in Brady Township, they talked with the accuser, who said she received texts from her ex-boyfriend, Tedrow, threatening to kill her.Police said they confirmed the threats by reviewing the text messages.April 27 — Jeremy W. Hays, 27, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI stemming from an April 3 incident on Route 422 in Franklin Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for speeding and saw an open can of beer and several empty ones inside the vehicle. Police said field sobriety tests indicated Hays was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.130%.In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.5:35 p.m. April 26 — Police responded to a three-vehicle accident on Glade Mill Road in Clinton Township.Police said Edward W. Watson, 44, of Sarver has been cited for rear-ending a vehicle driven by Marie M. Smith, 28, of Renfrew. The impact sent Smith's vehicle into a third driven by Keith E. Hay, 60, of Saxonburg.No one was taken to the hospital, but the three drivers and one passenger reported minor injuries.
