5:36 p.m. Monday — Sandra Harding, 60, of Butler and Jean Schick, 56, of Zelienople both suffered minor injuries when vehicles they were driving collided at Route 68 and South Duffy Road. Both vehicles were towed. Police cited Harding for failing to stop at a red light.7:25 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Wesley Woods, 34, of Pittsburgh, struck a curb on Route 8 south near Decatur Drive. He was not injured, but his vehicle had to be towed. Police said they cited Woods for driving with a suspended license and careless driving.
2:50 p.m. Monday — Donavon J. Francois, 20, of West Sunbury was injured when he lost control of his car on snow- and ice-covered Hall Road east of McGregor Road in Clay Township and slid sideways into a ditch, overturning at least one time.Francois, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered an apparent minor injury. His passenger, a 15-year-old West Sunbury boy, who wearing a seat belt, was not injured. The car was towed. Police cited Francois for driving too fast for conditions and driving with a suspended license.The West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department and Butler Ambulance Service assisted police at the scene.1:37 p.m. Sunday — Cody L. Nail, 27, of Hilliards lost control of his pickup truck, possibly after suffering a medical condition, and struck a tree along Route 38 just south of Blair road in Venango Township. He was not injured in the accident.10:30 a.m. Sunday — No one was injured when a car driven by William Rome, 91, of Butler turned and struck another car at Bonniebrook and Headland roads in Summit Township. Angela N. Ciarimboli, 40, of East Butler was the other driver.Both cars had to be towed. Police cited Rome for disregarding traffic lanes.8:33 a.m. Sunday — Isabelle F. Arnone, 21, of Saxonburg lost control of her car and struck a guardrail on Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton Township. She was not injured, but her car was towed.11:48 a.m. Jan. 7 — Derius L. Curges, 28, of Pittsburgh was arrested for having marijuana following a traffic stop on Route 8 south just east of Pepperland Boulevard in Butler. He was a passenger in the vehicle, which was stopped for a broken tail light.Police searched Curges and found him with suspected marijuana in one of his pockets, according to court documents. They also found that he was wanted on warrants out of Allegheny County.He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana stemming from the traffic stop.8:50 a.m. Jan. 7 — A 26-year-old Kittanning man came to the police barracks in Butler Township and reported that he had been receiving harassing text messages and telephone calls from unknown phone number.Jan. 7 — Police obtained a felony arrest warrant for Timothy J. McCullough, 26, of Donegal Township stemming from an alleged control drug buy last year in Donegal Township. He is accused of selling the narcotic buprenorphine to a police informant March 25, 2020.McCullough is charged with felony and misdemeanor drug possession.
Tuesday — Police report that they are investigating the theft of six catalytic converters on Traister Road in Madison Township. The theft, valued at $800, occurred between Dec. 12 and Jan. 12.10:59 p.m. Saturday — Joshua E. Barger, 26, of Rimersburg lost control of his pickup truck on snow-covered Route 68 about one-quarter miles south of Trimber Ridge in Monroe Township and struck a utility pole. Barger was not injured, but his truck had to be towed.
11:58 a.m. Jan. 6 — A shoplifter allegedly stole nearly $100 in merchandise at the Emlenton Truck Plaza on Emlenton Clintonville Road in Scrubgrass Township. Police did not release the name of the suspect, who has been identified. The investigation continues.
8:29 a.m. Monday — No one was injured in a two-vehicle wreck on Route 173 in Worth Township, Mercer County. The crash occurred when Courtney A. Covert, 22, of Grove City lost control of her pickup truck due to slippery conditions and struck a tractor truck driven by Richard A. Latchaw, 60, of Greenville.At least one of the vehicles had to be towed. Police cited Covert for driving too fast for conditions.
4:29 p.m. Friday — Three people were injured in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction crash in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Police said the wreck occurred when a car driven by Tina M. Globis, 47, of Ellwood City rear-ended a sport utility vehicle that was stopped on Route 65 at Hogue Road.The collision forced the SUV driven by Jacqueline A. Kyle, 38, of New Castle into the back of a pickup truck driven by Lonny G. Dean, 46, of Ellwood City, who was stopped to make a left turn at the intersection.All three drivers suffered apparent minor injuries, according to a police report. Globis was taken to UPMC Jameson hospital in New Castle. The other drivers did not require hospital treatment.
