6:56 a.m. Sunday — Police recovered two round lift/restraint slings that were found on South Benbrook Road. The slings, police noted, will be returned to the owner upon proof of ownership. The property can be claimed by calling police at 724-285-9600 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.Friday — Jolene L. Schirra, 34, of Slippery Rock was charged with drunken driving stemming from a one-vehicle crash last month on the 500 block of Mercer Road. The wreck occurred around 9:45 p.m. Dec. 25, police said, when her vehicle struck a utility pole before traveling through several front yards causing property damage.Schirra suffered minor injuries. Police charged her with driving under the influence, driving too fast for conditions, careless driving, failing to stop and give information and render aid after an accident, causing an accident to unattended property and damage to property by vehicle.Jan. 12 — George R. Howley Jr., 32, of Butler was arraigned on two felony charges of retail theft and two misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property in connection with a pair of separate shoplifting incidents last year at the Butler Commons' Walmart.Police said Howley on Oct. 20 took two televisions — 55-inch and 50-inch models — totaling $675. On Oct. 22, he allegedly took a 55-inch TV valued at $328. He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment.Jan. 11 — Police charged Austin L. Ehrman, 22, of Butler with failing to pay for items at the Butler Commons' Walmart self-checkout registers on three occasions between Nov. 2 and 14. He is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft and two summary counts of retail theft.4:24 p.m. Jan. 6 — Ryan T. Moore, 41, of Butler was allegedly found with suspected heroin and stamp bags while police investigated a disturbance on the 100 block of Duncan Drive. He is charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

11:16 a.m. Saturday — No one was injured when a driver lost control of his car and spun off Marburger Road in Forward Township. The car's rear side when into an embankment and the driver's side door hit a tree. The vehicle had to be towed.According to a police report, a witness confirmed the driver's account and reported that the driver was not traveling fast when the crash occurred.Friday — Police issued 16 traffic tickets to a Clarion County man in connection with a hit-and-run crash around 11:45 p.m. Jan. 9 in Fairview Township. The driver, Robert L. Ashbaugh, 35, of Rimersburg, lost control of his minivan and struck a mailbox and a utility pole stability cable along Cherry Road. He was not injured, but his vehicle had to be towed.Among some of Ashbaugh's traffic violations were hit-and-run, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, failing to stop and give information and render aid after an accident, illegally abandoning a vehicle, driving with a suspended license, driving a vehicle without insurance and driving too fast for conditions.8:35 p.m. Thursday — Felony drug possession, driving under the influence and other charges are pending against a 40-year-old Renfrew woman after a traffic stop in Center Township. Police did not immediately release the woman's name.She was pulled over in the area of Route 8 and Shanor Drive for unspecified traffic violations. A search of the her vehicle, according to a police report, turned up suspected cocaine and marijuana, drug-packaging materials and other paraphernalia, and a pistol.Jan. 14 — Multiple tires were slashed on two vehicles parked in a driveway on McCall Road in Franklin Township. Police have no suspects in the vandalism.10:24 p.m. Jan. 9 — Legend Barlow, 29, of Grove City was arrested for allegedly violating a protection from abuse order after police responded to a home on Tipple Lane in Concord Township. He was later placed in the Butler County Prison following his arrest.10:34 a.m. Jan. 9 — Multiple items of drug paraphernalia were found in a company truck on Sunset Drive in Center Township. The items included two blow torch lighters and a spoon with char marks on the bottom. Police ask anyone with information about the paraphernalia to call them at 724-284-8100.1 a.m. Jan. 9 — Amos W. Good, 39, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted and strangled his live-in girlfriend during a domestic dispute at their home on the 800 block of Eau Claire Road in Marion Township.The victim told police that she and Good got into an argument, according to court documents, and he grabbed her and pushed her against a wall “while his hands were wrapped around her throat.” She said her son, Henry A. Leroy, 20, who also lives there, and Good subsequently got into a physical altercation.Leroy recounted that after the altercation between his mother and the defendant, he tackled Good to the floor and placed him in an “arm lock.” He advised police that he then repeatedly struck Good in the head and face with his elbows, documents said.Good allegedly acknowledged that he pushed his girlfriend away from him and that he “may have pushed her by the throat.” He accused Leroy of tackling and hitting him.Good was arraigned on a felony charge of strangulation, multiple misdemeanor counts of simple assault and one summary count of harassment. He is free on $3,000 bail. Leroy was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and he is free on his own recognizance.
