Wednesday — Adam R. Baehr, 26, of Evans City was charged with a felony count of driving under the influence of a controlled substance stemming a from a suspected hit-and-run crash last month on the 400 block of South Main Street.Police were called about 6:25 p.m. Nov. 7 for the wreck that happened when a car backed into another car. A short time later, police stopped the suspect vehicle on Walker Avenue near Center Avenue.The driver, identified as Baehr, admitted that he had been involved in the earlier crash, according to court documents. During the traffic stop, Baehr also was found with marijuana.He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, documents said, which showed he had marijuana and prescription medication in his system. Because this is his third DUI offense, police said, Baehr is charged with felony DUI. Additionally, he is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and hit-and-run.10:20 p.m. Dec. 1 — Travis J. Cousins, 30, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly broke a window and gained access to his former girlfriend's apartment on the 200 block of West Brady Street. The tenant was away at the time, but she arrived home after neighbors notified her that the defendant was there.Police were called and they found Cousins outside. He appeared intoxicated, according to court documents, and he admitted breaking the window. Damage was estimated at $250.Officers took him to the police station where he was placed in a holding cell. He was released to the custody of a relative about 11:20 p.m. Police said he was advised to stay home and not return to the victim's apartment.But at 11:42 p.m., the woman again called police to report that Cousins, who lives nearby, had returned there, documents said, and “ripped the plastic down that she had covering the broken window.”He was arrested and arraigned on charges of defiant trespass, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and public drunkenness. He is free on $1,500 bail.
Dec. 2 — Devin C. Hunt, 30, of Slippery Rock was charged with being more than two-and-a-half times the state's legal limit for alcohol stemming from an October call to a fast food restaurant on Grove City Road for a reportedly intoxicated man who had just come through the drive-thru in a car.Police found Hunt in the car, and he was subsequently taken to Grove City Medical Center for a blood test. Toxicology results showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.229 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated. He is charged with driving under the influence.
5:54 a.m. Friday — Harold J. Turbett, 26, of Butler lost control of his sport utility vehicle and struck a tree along Whitestown Road in Connoquenessing Township. He was not injured, but the vehicle had to be towed. Police cited him for disregarding traffic lanes.Wednesday — A felony arrest warrant was issued for a New York City woman on charges she forged a fake check for $9,980.88, dated Sept. 1, using the name and bank account information of a Slippery Rock Township man. On Sept. 2, police said, the defendant, Jessica Cruz, 38, of the Bronx, deposited the check into her bank account. Cruz is charged with forgery, access device fraud, theft by deception and identity theft.Tuesday — Police charged Storm M. Comly, 28, of Butler Township with having crack cocaine stemming from a traffic stop last year in Butler. He was a passenger in the vehicle, which was stopped on New Castle Street around 11:30 p.m. Jan. 18, 2019. The driver fled. Comly was searched during the investigation and found with a crack pipe with burned crack inside of it, according to court documents. He is charged with possession if a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.5:18 p.m. Dec. 14 — Arthur A Pillart, 40 of Connoquenessing Township was arrested after police say they found him with marijuana and other drug contraband following a traffic stop at Route 422 east and Ringneck Lane in Summit Township.Police said that while they were talking to him, they noticed a bag of suspected marijuana on the passenger seat, according to court documents. A subsequent search of the vehicle also turned up a container of suspected THC wax, a metal smoking pipe and a metal vape pen.Pillart was later arraigned on charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, driving a vehicle without valid inspection, texting while driving, failing to carry his driver's license and not wearing a seat belt. He is free on $2,500 unsecured bail.
5:28 p.m. Dec. 10 — No one was injured in a two-vehicle collision in Slippery Rock Township. The crash happened when a pickup truck driven by Kevin A. Groves, 33, of Ellwood City struck the back of another vehicle in Route 65 just south of Harmony Baptist Road. Collin M. McGrath, 18, of New Castle was the other driver. Police cited Groves for driving too fast for conditions and driving without a license.
