9:40 p.m. Thursday — Jared T. Weber, 41, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face during a reported domestic dispute at Main and Jefferson streets. Police noted that the victim's face appeared “slightly swollen,” according to court documents.Weber was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and he was later released on his own recognizance.Wednesday — Robert J. Potts, 55, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a May traffic stop on South Cedar Street. Police said they stopped Potts around 5:35 p.m. May 17 after they initially saw his car going the wrong way on the 100 block of East Cunningham Street.He was eventually taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which showed he had marijuana and prescription medication in his system, according to court documents.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Potts is charged with going the wrong way on a one-way road.

4:15 p.m. Friday — Gary R. Koval, 38, of Butler Township was allegedly caught with 10 bags of suspected heroin after police were called for a man, possibly impaired, stumbling in and out of people's yards on Seneca Drive.Police said they found Koval, who matched the description of the man, on the front porch of his home on nearby Delaware Drive. He appeared to be under the influence, according to court documents, and he admitted using heroin earlier that day.When police asked him if he had anything illegal on him, documents said, he pulled out a bundle — 10 glassine bags — of suspected heroin.Koval is charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday — McKayla Jo McGinnis, 21, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop last month in Butler. Police said she was pulled over around 1:35 a.m. June 8 on the 100 block of Pepperland Boulevard.McGinnis was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which showed she had marijuana and a prescription medication in her system, according to court documents. A search of her vehicle turned up a plastic pill container with suspected marijuana.She is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.4:43 p.m. July 21 — A car driven by Brittany P. Lynn, 23, of Butler rear-ended another car on Route 68 near Connoquenessing School Road in Connoquenessing Township. Deborah C. Schettler, 59, of Connoquenessing was the other driver.No one was injured, but both cars had to be towed. Lynn was cited for following too closely to another vehicle, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.12:24 p.m. July 19 — Police cited Austin J. Scott, 26, of Hilliards with defiant trespass for driving an all-terrain vehicle on property on Morgan Road in Venango Township that is posted with “No Trespass” signs.According to a police report, Scott was previously advised on several occasions that he was not to be on the victim's property.1:02 p.m. July 14 — An SUV driven by a 17-year-old New Kensington, Westmoreland County, girl spun and slid off West Park Road in Worth Township, hitting a concrete curb and going airborne for about 14 feet before landing in a yard and striking the basement foundation at the home. Police did not release the girl's name. Neither she nor her passenger, a 17-year-old Butler boy, was injured. The girl was cited for disregarding traffic lanes, according to a police report.July 14 — Someone caused $5,000 worth of damage to windows at Waste Management's Northwest Sanitary Landfill on Route 308 in Clay Township. A police report did not indicate if there are any suspects.12:29 p.m. July 12 — An SUV became airborne after hitting a utility pole along Route 488 just west of Brenneman Road in Portersville. The vehicle ended on its roof. Police did not release the name of the driver, who had to be extricated from the SUV by Portersville volunteer firefighters.The driver was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with unknown injuries.10:03 p.m. July 11 — A 16-year-old Cabot boy was injured when a pickup struck the pickup he was driving at Bonniebrook and Great Belt roads in Jefferson Township. The boy suffered minor injuries. The other driver, a 16-year-old Butler boy, was cited for a stop sign violation.Police did not release the names of the drivers.
