9:30 p.m. Saturday — Jeffrey A. Schomaker, 38, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his wife during a domestic dispute at their home on the 800 block of West Park Road in Worth Township. He fled the scene before police got there.The victim told police that during the altercation, according to court documents, the defendant dragged her across the ground. Police said her right knee was bleeding through her jeans, and the area of her back and buttocks was covered in mud.Troopers later found Schomaker, documents said, who told them he had gotten into an argument with his wife while they were traveling home in a vehicle.District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Schomaker on charges of simple assault and harassment. Schomaker was released on unsecured bond with a number of conditions, including that he remain on house arrest and wear a Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring bracelet.Additionally, he was ordered to have no contact with the victim, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and complete a drug and alcohol evaluation.9 p.m. March 3 — Anthony W. Smorey, 45, of Butler fled the scene after he lost control of his car and struck a road sign and embankment along Protzman Road, north of Mitchell Hill Road, in Summit Township.Police cited Smorey for hit-and-run, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and a seat belt violation.March 9 — Rachel M. Allio, 39, of Cherry Township was arrested in connection with a suspected break-in and theft of prescription medication in January at a home on North Beaver Dam Road in Cherry Township. She is accused of entering the home Jan. 28 without the owner's permission.Allio was arraigned on a felony charge of burglary and a misdemeanor charge of theft. She is free on nonmonetary bond.March 3 — Eden C. Cochran, 28, of Hilliards was charged with DUI stemming from a February traffic stop in Clay Township. Police said she was stopped about 12:30 a.m. Feb. 29 on Route 8.She was subsequently taken for a breath test that showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.138 percent. A level of 0.08 percent in considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to DUI, she is charged with disregarding traffic lanes.March 4 — Anna K. Bauer, 24, of Summit Township was charged with being more than twice the state's legal limit for alcohol in connection with a February traffic stop in Clearfield Township. Police pulled her over about 2:15 a.m. Feb. 15 on Route 422 near Cornetti Road.Bauer was later taken for a breath test that indicated her blood-alcohol level was 0.166 percent.She is charged with DUI, disregarding traffic lanes, a stop sign violation and failing to use turn signals.
