POLICE REPORTS
Monday — Joshua K. Glenn, 27, of Butler was charged with having marijuana and other drug contraband in connection with an incident last month on the 300 block of First Street.
Police said they were on patrol around 1:20 p.m. Nov. 15 when they noticed Glenn walk out of a suspected drug house. They also knew the defendant's “history of drug abuse,” according to court documents.
An officer subsequently stopped Glenn on the 200 block of Eau Claire Street, and noted he did not appear to be in good health. The defendant denied having been using narcotics and told the officer, “I did nothing wrong,” documents said.
Police searched Glenn and allegedly found him with a pill bottle containing suspected marijuana. He also allegedly had two marijuana pipes, a syringe and other contraband.
He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
10:26 a.m. Sunday — Katherine Omelia, 26, of Butler lost control of her car on the wet road and struck a guardrail on Delwood Road at the Route 422 overpass. She was not injured, but her car had to be towed. Police cited her for driving too fast for conditions.
6:48 a.m. Monday — One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Clearfield Township. Zachary J. Zwilling, 36, of Worthington, Armstrong County, who was one of the drivers, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with apparent minor injuries.The crash occurred when a car driven by Samuel T. Buffone, 22, of Dayton, Armstrong County, rear-ended Zwilling's pickup on Route 422 east at McGrady Road. The collision caused the truck to roll onto its passenger's side. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.Police cited Buffone for driving too fast for conditions.9:05 a.m. Sunday — Rogelio R. Arzuga, 51, of Youngstown, Ohio, lost control of his sport utility vehicle on the wet road and struck a guardrail on Interstate 79 south in Muddy Creek Township. He and his three passengers were not injured, but his vehicle had to be towed.Police cited Arzuga for driving too fast for conditions.9:48 p.m. Nov. 29 — John P. Wolford, 60, of Boyers was injured when he lost control of his car and struck a utility pole along Route 308, north of Branchton Road, in Cherry Township. He suffered minor injuries, but refused medical treatment. He was wearing a seat belt.7:32 a.m. Nov. 29 — A car driven by David C. Masdea, 28, of Butler struck a tree and an embankment along Star Grille Road in Winfield Township. He was not injured.Masdea was issued six tickets, including hit-and-run, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, failing to stop and give information or render aid after an accident, driving too fast for conditions, driving on the wrong side of the road and careless driving.12:05 p.m. Nov. 24 — A car driven by Joseph H. Hurrelbrink, 35, of Shippenville, Clarion County, struck the back of a sport utility vehicle on Route 8 just east of Fox Hollow Drive in Center Township. Neither Hurrelbrink nor the other driver, Adelaide L. Braho, 79, of Butler, was injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.Police cited Hurrelbrink for driving too closely to another vehicle.8:11 a.m. Nov. 18 — Riley B. McKown, 18, of Pittsburgh lost control of his car and struck guardrails on the east and west sides of Interstate 79 North, just south of Ehrman Road, in Cranberry Township. He was not wearing a seat belt and suffered an unknown injury.
Thursday — The state police's Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported it recently accused several Butler County businesses of violating the state liquor law.Cited for selling or furnishing alcohol to a minor Oct. 11 were B&J's Coney Island and Straub Distributing, both in Slippery Rock.The Lyndora Hotel in Butler Township and the Brick House in Butler were both cited for selling or furnishing alcohol to a minor Sept. 7.An administrative law judge will hear the cases.
