12:02 a.m. Nov. 21 — Rastis O. Marcy, 41, of Butler was allegedly caught with suspected marijuana after he was arrested on a bench warrant at Chase Street near North Chestnut Street. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Nov. 21 — Joseph J. Miller, 40, was arrested for simple assault in connection with a domestic dispute in September at his home on the 300 block of Second Street.

He is accused of slapping his wife in the face, causing redness and a cut inside the lip, according to court documents. He also allegedly tackled her, injuring her left arm.

Miller was arraigned on the misdemeanor charge, and released on nonmonetary bond.

Nov. 18 — Police charged Zachary G. Gannon, 26, of Butler stemming from a hit-and-run accident earlier in the month. Police allege he was driving a pickup truck that rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped on West New Castle Street at South Sixth Avenue.

Gannon allegedly did not stop. The other drive denied medical treatment, according to court documents, but she told authorities that her neck was “a little sore.”

Police later found the defendant and his truck, which had front-end damage. He admitted he was in the crash and left the scene, documents said, “because he was scared and did not know what to do.”

Gannon is charged with hit-and-run and failing to give information or render aid after an accident.

12:20 a.m. Sunday — Christopher A. Stivason, 31, was arrested after he allegedly struck Travis Stivason 26, of Lyndora during an altercation at his home on Victory Road in Jefferson Township. The younger man suffered cuts to his head and nose.Christopher Stivason was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment. Police said Travis Stivason was cited for harassment.

8:05 a.m. Nov. 19 — Two vehicles struck the same deer on Route 19 about one mile north of Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Sherri L. Taylor, 43, of New Castle was driving a sport utility vehicle that first hit the deer.Police said the impact sent the deer into the opposing lane, where it was hit by an SUV driven by Shannon M. Amsden, 50, of Server. No one was injured.
