2 p.m. Friday — Donna Wilt, 67, of Gibsonia reported to police that a red truck towing a triaxle flatbed struck her Mazda CX7 and left the scene in Saxonburg. According to the police report, Wilt was not in her vehicle at the time of the crash. Her vehicle was parked outside Tre’Chic Hair Design.

The report said the tow truck tried to make a right turn onto Pittsburgh Street from West Main Street and the trailer hit Wilt’s car and continued southbound on Pittsburgh Street.

5:18 p.m. Friday — Zachary Boburka, 19, of Coraopolis was charged with following too closely after his involvement in a three-vehicle crash in Cranberry Township.

According to the police report, Boburka was driving a Chevrolet Impala on the off ramp of Freedom Road to Interstate 79 South, when the Nissan Rogue, driven by Sarah Bobby, 26, of Coraopolis, stopped abruptly due to traffic.

The report said Boburka’s Impala struck the Rogue in the rear. Bobby suffered a suspected minor injury, but she was not taken to the hospital.

According to the report, a third vehicle, a Chevrolet Cruze driven by David Graham, 27, of Upper St. Clair, struck the rear-end of Boburka’s Impala.

Boburka and Graham were not injured in the crash.

10:37 a.m. Saturday — A two vehicle accident sent one driver to the hospital.

Melvin Grossman, 81, of Hilliards, driving a Chevrolet Equinox westbound on Branchton Road, was stopped at stop sign at the intersection with West Sunbury Road. As Grossman pulled away from the stop sign into the intersection, his vehicle was struck by a Chevrolet Trail Blazer driven by Thomas Hollerman, 32, of Kennerdell, who was traveling northbound on West Sunbury Road.

Hollerman and one passenger in the Equinox, Ruth Grossman, 79, of Hilliards, were not injured. Melvin Grossman was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by Slippery Rock Rescue Team for possible injuries.

11 p.m. Sunday — Kenneth J. Kastelic Jr., 56, was arrested on charges that he strangled his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at his home on McGregor Road in Clay Township.

Police said when they got to the home they found the woman, who appeared to have broken blood vessels on the right side of her neck, according to court documents.

She recounted that the defendant grabbed her by the throat. She pushed him away, but he again grabbed her by the throat, documents said. Later, he allegedly slammed her on the ground and punched her in the face.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Kastelic on a felony charge of strangulation, a misdemeanor charge of simple assault, and summary charges of harassment and disorderly conduct. Following his arraignment, he was placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.

10:30 p.m. Sunday — Matthew P. Dec, 50, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman during a domestic dispute at his home on the 400 block of East Jefferson Street.

The victim told police that Dec grabbed her by the hair and “head-butted” her in the nose, according to court documents. Police said she suffered bleeding, swelling and a small cut to the bridge of her nose.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Dec on a charge of simple assault. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail following arraignment.
