2:05 p.m. July 24 — Kevin D. McMillen, 28, of Butler is charged with driving under suspension DUI-related following a traffic stop on Center Avenue. He is charged with a misdemeanor count of driving with a suspended license and a summary count of driving without a license.
10:03 a.m. Sunday — An Apple iPad was found on Kline Avenue in Callery. Police said they believe the owner might have left the device on top of a vehicle before driving away.The owner can claim the property by calling police at 724-284-8100.8:45 p.m. Saturday — A Crawford County man was injured when he lost control of his car and crashed on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.Police said Michael E. Beazley, 36, of Conneaut Lake was southbound when the car veered off the west side of the road. The vehicle traveled up an embankment and rolled, ending on its roof.Beazley, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered apparently minor injuries, but he refused hospital treatment. His car was towed.He was cited for careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes.Wednesday, 12:25 a.m. — Both drivers were cited in an accident on I-79 in Worth Township. The crash occurred when a southbound tractor-trailer driven by Aziz Mirzaliyev, 32, of Harrisburg hit a car stopped on the right shoulder.The other driver, Daniel P. McQuaide, 19, of Oil City, Venango County, was taking a break, according to a police report. He suffered an apparent minor injury.Mirzaliyev was cited for disregarding traffic lanes, a vehicle registration violation and driving without valid inspection. McQuaide was cited for improperly stopping on the side of a road.Friday — Tools valued at $542 were stolen from an unlocked vehicle at the owner’s home on the 400 block of Leasureville Road in Winfield Township. The theft occurred between 5 p.m. July 24 and 3:36 p.m. Friday.The stolen tools include a Milwaukee right angle drill and a Rockwell power saw. A hammer drill was also taken. Anyone with information is asked to call police.Thursday — Someone stole scrap metal worth about $1,500 from Chick Machine Co. in Jefferson Township. The theft occurred between 6:34 a.m. July 21 and 9:30 a.m. July 25.A police report noted that a Toyota RAV4 might have been involved in the theft, but it did not indicate if there are any suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.5:07 a.m. July 24 — An unknown shoplifter made off with a bag of Gummy Bears, a soft drink and cellphone charger from the Sheetz store on Route 8 in Center Township. The stolen items are valued at $27.July 24 — Police obtained an arrest warrant for Timothy D. Byers, 57, of Fenelton, who was charged with illegally attempting to buy a gun in February at a Center Township store.Byers is accused of providing false information on a background check form that was required Feb. 7 when he tried to buy the gun at the Clearview Mall Rural King, according to court documents.His information was entered into the Pennsylvania Instant Check system.Byers is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor.July 21 — Police charged two men in connection with a drugged driving arrest in Center Township earlier in the month that turned up suspected crack cocaine and methamphetamine.Ronald P. Lamping Jr., 48, of Mercer Township was initially stopped July 3 for speeding in the area of Route 8 and Route 308. Police said they clocked his sport utility vehicle going 70 mph in a 45 mph zone.During the stop, according to court documents, Lamping was found with a pill bottle containing what appeared to be crack. Police also found suspected meth under the seat of his passenger, Clayton J. Rennick, 37, of Butler, according to court documents.Lamping was eventually taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results showed he had benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, and diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, in his system, police said.He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license and speeding. Rennick is charged with possession of a controlled substance.July 14 — Nathaniel P. Manculich, 21, of Donegal Township was arrested for driving under the influence after he was stopped for speeding on Mercer Road in Center Township. Police said he was clocked going 70 mph in a 35 mph zone.Manculich admitted that he had been drinking alcohol, according to court documents, and he subsequently failed field sobriety tests. He was taken for a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.083 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to DUI, he is charged with speeding, driving too fast for conditions and careless driving.July 12 — Bruce D. Kleeman, 63, of Slippery Rock was arrested for drunken driving after a speeding stop in Franklin Township. Police said he was caught going 95 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 422 east at the South Shore exit.Kleeman showed impairment during field sobriety testing, according to court documents, and was taken for a breath test, which indicated his blood-alcohol level was 0.156 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.He is charged with DUI, speeding, driving too fast for conditions, failing to keep right, speeding and a seat belt violation.
