10:22 p.m. Saturday — Malinda M. Bernardi, 43, of Butler was allegedly caught with a Suboxone strip after she was arrested on a bench warrant on North Chestnut Street near West New Castle Street.

Police said she did not have a prescription for the drug. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

8:41 p.m. Saturday — Justin Q. Fitzpatrick, 40, of Butler Township was arrested on a bench warrant at Jefferson and Broad streets after police said he was found with drug contraband.

Police said a search of Fitzpatrick turned up two empty drug stamp bags, a syringe and metal spoon with white powder residue. He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

2:10 p.m. Sunday — At least two people were hurt in a rear-end crash in Summit Township. The wreck occurred when Tyler R. Wiest, 27, of Butler reportedly fell asleep and lost control of his pickup truck on Route 356 at Headland Road.By the time Wiest woke up, according to a police report, he was unable to stop in time and hit the back of another pickup that Brad E. Cottage, 31, of Greensburg, Westmoreland County, was driving. Cottage's truck overturned.Wiest and one of Cottage's passengers, Brittany K. Cottage, 29, of Greensburg, both suffered apparent minor injuries. Two children, both age 1, also riding in Cottage's truck, suffered possible injuries as well.Police cited Wiest for following too closely to another vehicle and careless driving.

9:30 p.m. Sunday — Gary J. Whitling, 25, of Emlenton allegedly struck a 22-year-old Parker man and a 25-year-old Karns City woman during a confrontation at the RiverStone Lounge and Grill on North Street in Parker. Both victims suffered unspecified injuries.Police obtained an arrest warrant Monday for Whitling on charges of simple assault and harassment.
