3 p.m. Tuesday — Tru M. Miranda, 20, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman during a domestic dispute at his home on the 300 block of Zeigler Avenue.

The victim told police that Miranda, the father of her children, slapped her face, according to court documents. She had a red mark and bruise on her left cheek.

The defendant was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

Monday — Nicole A. Baur, 36, of Evans City was charged with treating a man's Butler business payroll check of March 26 as her own.

The victim told authorities that he gave the check to Baur to deposit because he does not have a bank account, according to court documents. But she subsequently advised him that the deposit “did not go through,” police said.

But when he tried to have his employer cash it, he learned that the signed check had allegedly been “mobile deposited” into Baur's bank account March 27.

Police spoke to the defendant, documents said, who told them that the deposit “did not initially go through, but it was processed two days later and she received the money.”

When police asked her why she did not return the money to the victim, “Baur had no legitimate answer,” documents said.

She is charged with theft by deception.

10 a.m. May 24 — Melissa M. Cammisa, 33, of Butler was allegedly found with two syringes — one in her purse and the other under a bed — after she was picked up by state parole agents at a home on East North Street.

Police charged her with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday — Malachi Void III, 31, of Butler was charged in two separate shoplifting incidents at the Butler Commons' Walmart. He is accused of walking away with $428.83 worth of merchandise around 12:17 a.m. March 10.Police said he was seen taking the items, which included a PlayStation 4 console and a video game. Void is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of retail theft.Around 11:30 p.m. April 2 he allegedly left the store with a television valued at $280.50, according to a police report. He is also charged in that case with first-degree misdemeanor retail theft.Tuesday — Police charged Jackie L. Cary, 54, of Butler with failing to scan $180.28 in consumable goods April 27 at the Butler Commons' Walmart. She is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of retail theft.7:58 p.m. May 25 — Robert J. Miller Jr., 60, of Butler was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of a solvent, specifically air duster, on Route 356.Police said they were called for a man passed out behind the wheel of a pickup truck at two intersections — Route 356 and Butler Commons and Route 356 and Alameda Road. Police found the truck a short time later at the Byre Mor Court apartments.Miller was passed out, according to court documents, and he had a can of duster in his left hand. He eventually awakened before passing out again.Police said an officer had to awaken the defendant, who allegedly showed signs of huffing. Four cans of duster were found in the truck; one of the cans was empty.He failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, documents said. Toxicology results are pending.In addition to DUI, Miller was arraigned on charges of illegal use of certain solvents and careless driving. He is free on $5,000 bail.9:23 p.m. May 23 — Brittany L. Irvin, 27, of Butler was spotted on surveillance video removing five gift cards from a co-worker's wallet at the McDonald's restaurant at the Greater Butler Mart.She is charged with theft and receiving stolen property, both second degree misdemeanors.9:40 p.m. May 17 — Three teenagers were allegedly caught with marijuana in a car at Alameda Park.Charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia are Destinee S. Koebler, 18, and Jade L. Angerett, 18, both of Butler; and a 17-year-old girl, who police did not identify.

Tuesday — Robert L. Smith, 29, of Cherry Township was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic incident earlier in the month in Butler.Police said Smith was driving a car that allegedly ran a stop sign around 1:20 a.m. May 9 at Heim Avenue and Pepper Street. He stopped the car on Hickory Street and got out along with an unspecified number of passengers.Smith showed impairment during field sobriety testing, according to court documents, and he was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results allegedly showed he had cocaine in his system.An inventory search of the car, police said, turned up a smoking pipe and a plastic container that both had suspected cocaine residue. Police also allegedly found four oxycodone pills and 15 gabapentin pills.Smith is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, illegal use of a license plate, a stop sign violation, failing to use turn signals, careless driving and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.May 21 — Rebecca J. Hamilton, 36, of Butler was charged with being more than three-and-a-half times the state's legal limit for alcohol stemming from a traffic stop earlier this month on the 500 block of West New Castle Street in Butler.Police said they pulled over the defendant May 2 after they saw her car cross the white fog line “multiple times.” Field sobriety tests were not conducted due to her being “uncooperative.”Hamilton was taken for a breath test, which allegedly showed that her blood-alcohol level was 0.282 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.She is charged with driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and failing to notify authorities of a change of name or address.

12:15 a.m. Monday — James L. Gibbs. 54, of Worthington was arrested after he allegedly tried to burn down a home on Saint Patricks Road in West Franklin Township.Police said Gibbs admitted to lighting a box on fire in the home. No one was in the house at the time.He was arraigned on charges of arson, driving under the influence and careless driving. He was placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $50,000 bail following arraignment.
