9:30 p.m. April 19 — Allen C. Davis, 20, of Elizabeth, Allegheny County, was arrested for drunken driving at the Lower Founders Hall parking lot. Police said they made the stop after the suspect's car was seen veering on Kiester Road in Slippery Rock Township.Davis consented to a portable device breath test that indicated he had alcohol in his system, according to court documents. He subsequently failed field sobriety tests.Police took him to the station for a formal breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.138 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Davis is charged with driving under the influence, DUI by a minor, underage drinking, minors prohibited from driving with any alcohol in their system, careless driving and failure to keep right.
9:46 a.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by James Shields, 85, of Slippery Rock and a sport utility vehicle driven by Rebecca L. DeGraaf, 32, of Mercer collided at Route 173 and Glacial Till Road in Mercer Township.No injuries were reported but the SUV had to be towed. Police cited Shields for a stop sign violation.1:15 a.m. Friday — Three unknown suspects broke into a Slippery Rock Township apartment. Nothing was taken, and there was no damage at the apartment on Slippery Rock Drive.3:24 p.m. Thursday — Two people were hurt in a three-vehicle wreck in Clearfield Township. The chain-reaction crash happened when a car driven by Peter J. Boyer, 41, of Ford City, Armstrong County, rear-ended an SUV driven by Ashley M. Colgan, 30, of Cabot.Police said the impact spun the SUV into the opposing lane where it collided with a minivan driven by Rebecca L. Marsh, 52, of New Bethlehem, Clarion County.Colgan and Marsh were both taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injures. Both were wearing seat belts. All vehicles were towed.Police cited Boyer for following too closely to another vehicle.10:30 a.m. Thursday — An Allegheny County man was hurt when he lost control of his Mack truck and struck a ditch and speed limit sign along Stoughton Road just west of Crestview Road in Slippery Rock Township.Brian D. Carnahan, 62, of Oakdale, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered apparent minor injuries. His truck had to be towed. Police cited him for disregarding traffic lanes.7:41 p.m. April 29 — A deer was blamed for a northern Butler County crash that injured a Hilliard man. Cody. L. Nail, 25, swerved his car to avoid the deer and lost control of his car, traveling down an embankment and hitting a tree.Nail suffered a minor injury. He was wearing a seat belt.2:15 a.m. April 24 — Natalie E. Truini, 22, of Slippery Rock was arrested for DUI after she failed to use her turn signal at Campus Drive and Kiester Road in Slippery Rock.Police said she indicated impairment during field sobriety testing. A breath test showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.096 percent.Truini is charged with driving under the influence, a turning violation, careless driving, and failing to carry her driver's license.7:41 a.m. April 20 — Tyler M. Beck 23, of Cherry Tree, Indiana County, was arrested for DUI after he crashed his car into a ditch on Route 8 just east of Muddy Creek Drive. He suffered unspecified injuries.Police said Beck told them he had consumed one shot of alcohol earlier that morning. He advised troopers he was driving to Indiana County when he crashed. A breath test later showed that his blood-alcohol level was 0.164 percent.He is charged with DUI, careless driving, disregarding traffic lanes, driving at an unsafe speed, and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.April 18 — Sierra L. Summers, 24, of Butler allegedly gave a bogus name after a traffic stop in Franklin Township. Police said they eventually learned that she was wanted on a bench warrant for a parole violation.She was arraigned on a charge of false identification to law enforcement authorities.3:12 a.m. April 12 — Russell J. Brandon, 28, of Butler was arrested for DUI after he was pulled over for speeding on West Old Route 422 in Franklin Township.Police said Brandon admitted he had been drinking alcohol earlier and he subsequently showed impairment during field sobriety tests. A breath test showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.095 percent.In addition to DUI, Brandon is charged with speeding and careless driving.1:26 a.m. April 12 — Police arrested Austin J. Greathouse, 24, of Butler for DUI in Slippery Rock Township after he crossed the double yellow center line on Kiester Road.Greathouse failed field sobriety testing and he was taken to the Slippery Rock police station for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.162 percent, police said.He is charged with DUI and failing to keep right.
5:21 p.m. Saturday — Three people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Liberty Township. The wreck happened when Isabella D. McShane, 18, of Erie lost control of her car on Route 258 just south of Amsterdam Road, causing her to hit another car driven by Bethany D. Ackerman, 20, of Latrobe, Westmoreland County.Both drivers and Ackerman's passenger, Allison M. Dellinger, 32, of Grove City, suffered minor injuries. All three occupants were wearing seat belts. At least one of the cars had to be towed.Police cited McShane for disregarding traffic lanes.
