Monday — Police obtained a felony arrest warrant for Joseph P. Gaiser, 31, no known address, on charges he used a woman’s stolen bank debit card to make three unauthorized transactions totaling $476.80.

The victim Jan. 29 told police that the card was in her wallet, which was taken from her vehicle while it was parked on the 200 block of Second Street.

The card was used at a home improvement store in Butler Township, a convenience store in Butler and a Walmart in Tarentum, Allegheny County, documents said.

Surveillance images from at least two of the stores helped police identify Gaiser. He is charged with a felony count of forgery and three misdemeanor counts of access device fraud.

Sunday — Dakota J. Hinchberger, 25, of Muddy Creek Township was charged in connection with a police last month for suspected drug activity in the area of Spang and Walker avenues.

Police said they found Hinchberger and two other people in a sport utility vehicle about 2 p.m. Jan. 31. Hinchberger, who was the driver, gave a bogus name, according to court documents.

In time, however, police learned his identify. They also found out he was wanted on a bench warrant. Near his seat, documents said, police also found a crack pipe.

Hinchberger is charged with false identification to law enforcement authorities and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police previously charged the two passengers — Nancy A. Hinchberger, 51, and Richard W. Dusheck, 61, both of Butler — with possession of drug paraphernalia.

[naviga:h3]Slippery Rock University Police[/naviga:h3]

Feb. 6 — Jacob W. Schriefer, 18, of Pittsburgh was caught with suspected marijuana and other drug contraband following a traffic stop in Slippery Rock Township. He was a passenger in the vehicle.

Police said that while questioning the four occupants, Schriefer admitted he had marijuana in his book bag, according to court documents. He turned over a sandwich bag containing marijuana as well as a box of sandwich bags.

A search of the vehicle turned up a digital scale, documents aid, which Schriefer admitted belonged to him.

He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]

Tuesday — Wallace W. Frenchak, 70, of Butler Township was charged with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop last month in Butler. Police said they pulled Frenchak over Jan. 24 after he ran a red light at Main and Jefferson streets.

Frenchak admitted that he had been drinking, according to court documents. He failed one field sobriety test before refusing to perform any others. He also declined to take a preliminary breath test or a blood test.

He is charged with driving under the influence, failing to stop at a red light and careless driving.

Feb. 7 — Austin R. LaFever, 23, of Slippery Rock was charged with having drug contraband last month when he was arrested on a probation violation in [naviga:h3]Slippery Rock Township[/naviga:h3]

Police said they found him carrying a hypodermic needle and several empty stamp bags of suspected heroin, according to court documents.

In his girlfriend’s purse, police said, were more empty stamp bags and another needle.

Lefever is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

9 p.m. Feb. 5 — Trista J. Vandorp, 27, was arrested on charges she assaulted her husband during a domestic dispute at their home on Marquis Lane in Summit Township.

The alleged victim told police that he and his wife got into an argument that evening. When he went to gather up some of his belongings to leave, according to court documents, she struck him in the back of the head about 20 times.

He also accused her of hitting him in the head with her cell phone. He ended up going to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Vandorp was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment. She is free on her own recognizance.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Punxsutawney[/naviga:h3]

Wednesday — The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported that Butler Lodge 1664, Order of Sons and Daughters of Italy in America on South Main Street in Butler was cited for violating the state liquor law between Oct. 9 and January by failing to have its board-approved manager complete Responsible Alcohol Management Program training.

RAMP was designed to train beverage alcohol licensees and servers on responsible service, including detection of false IDs, prevention of underage drinking, prevention of serving visibly intoxicated patrons and developing designated driver programs.

An administrative law judge will hear the case.
