Wednesday — Police charged a Pittsburgh man with having suspected heroin and marijuana candy stemming from a traffic stop earlier this month on East Jefferson Street near the Honey Bear convenience store.
Aaron C. Adams, 30, was stopped about 5 p.m. Jan. 12 for having illegally tinted windows, according to court documents. Police also found that he was a suspended driver.
An officer said that while he spoke to Adams he noticed what appeared to be several stamp bags of heroin in the air vent between the driver’s door and steering wheel. In all, police seized nine bags of suspected heroin.
A subsequent inventory search of the car also turned up marijuana-infused candy and marijuana oil in the center console, documents said.
Adams is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and a window tint violation.
[naviga:h3]Buffalo Twp Police[/naviga:h3]
Jan. 22 — An Allegheny County woman was charged with being at least double the state’s legal limit for alcohol in connection with a suspicious vehicle call earlier this month on the 700 block of Ekastown Road.
Police got there about 9:15 p.m. Jan. 15 and found the defendant, Gail L. Taglieri, 56, of Brackenridge, slumped over the wheel of a pickup truck at Roenigk’s bus garage, according to court documents.
An officer had to knock on the window numerous times before she awakened. Police said she was unable to tell them why she was there.
“She was asked how much she had to drink,” according to a police affidavit, “and she stated that she had too much.”
Taglieri subsequently handed over a nearly empty bottle of vodka that she had in her purse. She was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County for a blood test.
Documents said toxicology results showed her blood-alcohol level was at least 0.16 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.
In addition to driving under the influence, Taglieri is charged with driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.02 percent or greater while her license is suspended and driving with an open container of alcohol.

Thursday — Jeffrey S. Panko, 32, of Butler Township was charged with drunken driving stemming from a police call about 12:25 a.m. Jan. 13 for a pickup truck broken down near the dead end on Colleen Street.
A neighbor told police that he had returned home and noticed the pickup with the headlights on in the weeds, according to court documents. He saw a man in the truck, who remained seated for several minutes before getting out and walking up Colleen Street.
Police identified Panko as the owner of the truck, which appeared to have gotten stuck in the deep snow as the driver attempted to turn around.
Officers tracked footprints in the snow and subsequently found the defendant walking on Lehigh Street near Bessemer Avenue. Police estimated that he walked just under one mile from where he left his truck.
He admitted getting his truck stuck and decided to walk home, documents said. He also admitted to having consumed “quite a few” alcoholic beverages that night.
Panko was arrested following field sobriety tests but he later refused to submit to a blood test.
He is charged with driving under the influence, causing a hazard as an intoxicated pedestrian and public drunkenness.
Thursday — Two Indiana County women were charged in connection with a fraudulent return scheme earlier this month at the Butler Commons’ Walmart.
One of the defendants, Casey J. Coffield, 19, of Indiana, is accused of removing a kitchen mixer, valued at $243, from a store shelf.
The teen never paid for the item but she attempted to return it for store credit. Police said the other defendant, Makayla R. Bryan, 20, of Indiana was with Coffield.
Coffield is charged with theft by deception and conspiracy. Bryan is charged with conspiracy to commit theft by deception, and possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]
Jan. 22 — Darius J. Lassiter, 20, of Pittsburgh was charged with drugged driving stemming from an October traffic stop in Slippery Rock Township. Police said they stopped him about 10:35 p.m. Oct. 14 after first spotting his car on South Main Street in Slippery Rock without its lights on.
Lassiter admitted that he and his three passengers had come from Pittsburgh to visit friends in Slippery Rock. Before leaving, according to court documents, he and his companions had smoke marijuana.
He was eventually taken to Grove City Medical Center for a blood test, which confirmed the presence of marijuana.
Lassiter is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, failing to carry his driver’s license and a lighting violation.
Two of his passengers — Eric L. Worlds, 18, and Tyraea K. Gilliam, 20, both of Pittsburgh — were allegedly caught with marijuana.
Police said Worlds had about 6 grams of the drug in a plastic bag in his pants. Gilliam had about 2 grams of the drug in a plastic bag and a marijuana grinder in her purse.
Both of those passengers are charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Jan. 16 — Dawn D. Kummer, 47, of Jefferson Township was charged with having marijuana and other contraband stemming from a September traffic stop in Saxonburg.
Police said Kummer was a passenger in the car that was stopped about 1:40 p.m. Sept. 11 for having a burned out headlight on the 200 block of Butler Road. She also was wanted on a traffic warrant, according to court documents.
A consent search of the car turned up a marijuana pipe belonging to the defendant. Police later searched her at the Saxonburg police station and found a plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana in her a back jeans pocket.
Kummer is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Jan. 10 — Police charged Scott J. Isaacs, 49, of Renfrew with drunken driving in connection with a traffic stop this month on Route 422 in Franklin Township. He was pulled over about 2 a.m. Jan. 6 near Eagle Mill Road after his pickup truck crossed over the white fog line.
Isaacs was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and taken to the barracks for a breath test that indicated his blood-alcohol level was 0.152 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
He is charged with DUI, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
