Police said they found Eck after being called for a man reportedly lying on a bench outside the Grapevine Center on Elm Street. He had a swollen eye and other bruises.

He told officers that he had been jumped by more than one person while walking on Kittanning Street. He said he managed to make it to the Grapevine Center. He apparently was unable to identify his assailants.

A Butler Ambulance Service crew took Eck to Butler Memorial Hospital. Police said they later learned that he was wanted on bench warrants out of Butler and Armstrong counties.

5:13 a.m. Monday — Police said they had to use a Taser on a 32-year-old man after they were called to his home on Hickory Street for a domestic disturbance.

Officers said they found Mark W. Holmes Jr. seated on the couch. They also found his live-in girlfriend, Emerald Adamik, who told them Holmes had been sending her threatening text messages and voicemails. Police said Holmes appeared to be intoxicated.

While officers were there Holmes became “extremely irate and began yelling at Adamik about their relationship issues,” according to a police affidavit.

Police eventually arrested Holmes for public intoxication. But when they tried to put him in handcuffs, court documents said, he pulled away and grabbed one of the officers by the chest.

Patrolman Myles Bizub physically confronted Holmes and got him to let go of the officer, police said. But he continued to resist and pull away from police, who used Taser to subdue Holmes.

Holmes was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest and public drunkenness, and later released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
