Thursday — Richard C. Cahall Jr., 36, of Butler was arrested stemming from the July 9 theft of a gun and other property inside a vehicle on the 400 block of Eau Claire Street.
Cahall was arraigned on a felony count of theft and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.
Police said the alleged victim told them that he had parked his pickup truck and gone into the Eau Claire Street bar. When he returned to the truck, he discovered someone had been in it.
Missing was a 9 mm Glock pistol that was in a holster, two magazines for the gun and a wallet containing credit cards and personal information, according to court documents.
Officers reviewed video captured on a surveillance camera outside the bar facing Eau Claire Street. A man is seen around the victim’s truck at the time of the alleged theft.
A patron at the bar later looked at the video and identified Cahall as the man seen near the truck, documents said.

6:31 a.m. Tuesday — Tiffany R. Mullen, 28, of Butler was allegedly caught with stolen property and medication without a prescription after police were called for an intoxicated woman at a New Castle Road restaurant.
Police arrested Mullen after they found her impaired at King’s Restaurant. She was searched and found with 43 alprazolam pills, hypodermic needles, empty stamp bags of heroin and other drug contraband, according to a police report.
Additionally, the search turned up a credit card, check and money that Mullen allegedly had taken from a relative’s home on Route 68 in the township.
Mullen is charged with theft, receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.
She was placed in the Butler County Prison on a probation violation.
[naviga:h3]Slippery Rock Police[/naviga:h3]
12:50 a.m. July 1 — Molly J. Hennessy, 25, of Muddy Creek Township was arrested for drunken driving after she was stopped for crossing the double yellow center line and fog line on New Castle Street.
Police said Hennessy’s car smelled of alcohol and she admitted that she and her passenger had been drinking at a local bar, according to court documents.
She later failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a breath test that showed her blood-alcohol level was .093 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
Hennessy is charged with driving under the influence and disregarding traffic lanes.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]
4:59 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Gregory S. McWilliams, 25, of Butler struck another car on Route 8 just east of Volkswood Drive in Center Township. George V. Deakings, 61, of Butler was the other driver.
No one was hurt but McWilliams’ car had to be towed. Police cited him for driving at an unsafe speed.
July 10 — Alejandro P. Ortiz, 21, of Butler was charged in connection with a 2015 traffic stop in Butler where he allegedly was caught with marijuana cigarettes. A broken rear taillight was the reason for the stop Sept. 13, 2015, at Monroe and St. Paul streets, court documents said.
Ortiz’s car smelled of marijuana, police said, and a trooper noticed marijuana blunts in the ashtray. A search of the vehicle turned up four blunts, a drug pipe and a marijuana grinder.
Ortiz is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and driving without rear lights.
Documents did not indicate why it took police so long to file charges.
2:32 a.m. July 7 — Christopher J. Zulick, 37, of Butler was arrested for drunken driving on Route 422 near North Road in Franklin Township. Police said he was pulled over for not using his turn signal.
Zulick smelled of alcohol, according to court documents, and he appeared intoxicated. He admitted drinking that night.
Police said he failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the barracks for a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.177 percent, or more than twice the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit.
Zulick is charged with driving under the influence, careless driving and the turn sign violation.
9 p.m. July 6 — Alan C. Budny, 48, of New Castle was arrested for DUI after he was pulled over for not having his front or rear lights on while traveling Route 19 in Muddy Creek Township.
Police said Budny had a “strong odor” of alcohol on his breath and he appeared to be impaired, according to court documents. A breath test subsequently showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.204 percent.
In addition to DUI, he is charged with careless driving and a lighting violation.

12:40 a.m. Thursday — A one-vehicle accident happened on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township.
Ronald James, 64, of Freeport was driving north on Route 28 when he collided with a deer. He was not injured.
