Police said Luich on April 25 passed the check that was subsequently returned as “unpayable due to an uncollected funds hold,” according to court documents.
The business, in seeking payment, later sent a certified letter to the defendant. The letter, however, was returned undeliverable.
Luich is charged with bad checks.
11:44 p.m. Sunday — It took four doses of an opiate drug overdose antidote to revive a 37-year-old man at his home on East Wayne Street. But afterward, police said, Michael Karch refused further treatment.
Karch’s girlfriend called 911 to report she found him unconscious and not breathing, apparently after he overdosed, police said. Emergency crews from the Butler Fire Department and Butler Ambulance Service found him on the living room floor.
Medics rescued Karch with the drug naloxone, also known as Narcan. He told authorities that he did not want to go to the hospital.
June 18 — Kenneth R. Lohr III, 34, of Butler was arrested a day after he allegedly stole a wallet from a purse at the Monroe Hotel on East Jefferson Street.
Police around 12:10 a.m. June 17 were called and later learned that an unknown customer had chased the thief out the door and caught up to him.
The suspect dropped the wallet, which contained $40 in currency, as well as identification cards and other personal belongings, and got away. Police searched for the thief but could not find him.
Officers later reviewed hotel surveillance video of the incident and identified Lohr, who was subsequently arrested and arraigned on a misdemeanor charge of theft. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $30,000 bail following arraignment.

Monday — Police vice officers charged an Allegheny County man stemming from a drug investigation last year in Center Township.
The suspect, Jason David Sestina, 28, of West Mifflin, faces misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
According to court documents, police were conducting surveillance at a known drug house on Route 8 on July 11, 2016, when they noticed a vehicle drive away. Officers followed the vehicle to a parking lot at the Clearview Mall in Center Township.
Other cars also appeared around that vehicle, indicating a drug deal, police said. Officers said they found Sestina in his car. They also noticed a baggie containing suspected cocaine that was on the driver’s side floor.
June 22 — Christine Ann Sanderson, 44, of West Sunbury was charged with driving on drugs in connection with a traffic stop May 21 in Butler Township. Police said they stopped her about 11:25 p.m. after her vehicle crossed the center line and fog line on New Castle Road.
Sanderson was pulled over at the Point Plaza. She appeared impaired, according to court documents, and she failed field sobriety tests. She was arrested and underwent an evaluation by a drug recognition expert.
She eventually was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. A toxicology report indicated she had the opioid pain medication fentanyl in her system, documents said.
Sanderson is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, driving without a license, driving on the wrong side of the road, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
