Monday — Police charged Haley J. Russell, 38, of Butler with having drug contraband following a traffic stop last week in the 400 block of North Washington Street.

Russell was riding in a car that was pulled over about 11 p.m. May 2 when police noticed another occupant in the vehicle who was wanted on warrants.

That other occupant, Lisa M. Wilbert, 31, of Center Township, was found with a backpack containing suspected drugs and four guns, one of them stolen, according to court documents.

Wilbert was subsequently arrested on a pair of felonies and other charges, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail.

Police said Russell, during the stop, was seen allegedly trying to hide a crack pipe in her bra. She is charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

[naviga:h2]Buffalo Twp Police[/naviga:h2]

May 2 — Robert J. Guthrie, 33, of Buffalo Township was charged with being 2½ times the legal limit for alcohol following a one-vehicle wreck in March on Coal Hollow Road.

Police said a patrol officer shortly after midnight March 29 came upon the crash, finding a sport utility vehicle off the road and on an embankment. All of the air bags had deployed.

Police, however, found no one in or around the SUV.

After a closer look in the vehicle, police found a cooler on the front passenger seat. In the cooler was an ice pack with five cans of beer, according to court documents.

About five minutes later, police said, an officer found Guthrie walking on the side of Ekastown Road. He admitted that he was intoxicated and should not have been driving.

Guthrie later failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a blood test. His blood-alcohol level was 0.201 percent, documents said.

He is charged with driving under the influence, careless driving and failing to immediately notify police of an accident.

2:15 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Thomas L. Bundy, 24, of Whitesville, N.Y., collided with a tractor-trailer on Route 422 at Greenwood Drive. No one was hurt but both vehicles had to be towed. Patrick Quaigg, 63, of Weirton, W.Va., was driving the rig.

Police cited Bundy for making an improper left turn, a stop sign violation and a title transfer violation. The car owner, Heather Cook, 28, of Knoxville, Tioga County, was cited for not having insurance on the vehicle and failing to deliver a vehicle title.

Monday — Police charged Kurt R. Kelly, 39, of Petrolia in a shoplifting incident last week at the Butler Commons Walmart. He is accused of trying to steal $219.28 in merchandise.

Kelly, who was previously barred from the store for a previous shoplifting, is charged with retail theft and defiant trespass. Amanda L. Dennett, 31, of Petrolia, who accompanied Kelly to the store May 1, also is charged with defiant trespass. She, too, had been banned from there.

1:02 p.m. Thursday — Two Mercer County men were caught with suspected marijuana in Lyndora. Police said they found Tyson A. Andrada, 20, of Mercer and Daniel D. Askew, 21, of Farrell in a vehicle that smelled of marijuana.

A search of the vehicle turned up suspected marijuana. Both men are charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Andrada was placed in the Butler County Prison for a probation violation in Mercer County, court records showed. He’s also being held on $2,500 bail for the township police case.

Thursday — Police charged Stacy J. McConahy, 31, of Butler in connection with an employee theft at a Moraine Pointe Plaza fast food restaurant last month.

McConahy is accused of taking $113.57 from the Taco Bell on April 30. He is charged with misdemeanor theft.

May 1 — Michael A. McPherson Jr., 27, of Butler was caught with suspected marijuana following a traffic stop last month on New Castle Road. Police said they stopped him about 2:47 a.m. April 29 for running a flashing red light.

McPherson is facing charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and the traffic light violation.

1:22 a.m. April 22 — An underage drinking party landed three people in trouble with the law. A call for a loud party sent police to the home in the 400 block of McCalmont Road.

Officers found Cyle A. Covert, 20, who lives there, according to a police report. He appeared to be intoxicated and allegedly gave police a bogus date of birth. Police said two women — Kiersten Pennington, 19, of East Brady, Clarion County; and Brittney Stevenson, 18, of Chicora — were also there and were under the influence of alcohol.

Covert is charged with false identification to law enforcement authorities, furnishing alcohol to minors, underage drinking and disorderly conduct. Police cited Pennington and Stevenson for underage drinking.

[naviga:h2]Saxonburg Police[/naviga:h2]

11:08 p.m. April 29 — Shelby M. Kildoo, 20, of Winfield Township was caught with suspected drug contraband during a traffic stop on Butler Street near Short Street. Police said they pulled over her car for having a burned out headlight.

An officer got to the car and noticed what appeared to be a marijuana pipe in the driver’s door compartment, court documents said.

Kildoo is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and the lighting violation.

9:30 a.m. May 3 — Jacob C. Seybert, 21, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly entered an unlocked home on Elliott Road in Center Township without permission and assaulted a 19-year-old woman. Seybert was arraigned on a felony charge of trespass, misdemeanor charges of indecent assault and defiant trespass, and a summary charge of harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail following arraignment.
