Butler Police12:20 p.m. Michael A. Schultz Jr., 29, of Pittsburgh was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his live-in girlfriend, 29-year-old Britney Brown, during a domestic dispute on Fairview Avenue.Brown told police that she and Schultz had gotten into an argument when the defendant punched her in the face, according to court documents. Police said the victim’s bottom lip was swollen and slightly split open.Schultz was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in Butler County Prison on $7,500 bail.
Butler Twp PoliceNoon Monday — No one was injured in a three-vehicle, chain reaction accident on New Castle Road. The wreck happened when a car driven by Cheryl Brinker, 71, of Cabot rear-ended another vehicle in front of S&T Bank.The crash forced the other vehicle driven by Kelly Wood, 30, of Slippery Rock into the back of a car driven by Noreen Venturini, 77, of Saxonburg. Police noted that Wood and Venturini were both stopped at a traffic light at Alameda Park Road at the time.Brinker’s and Wood’s vehicles had to be towed.12:45 p.m. March 23 — A 14-year-old student landed in trouble with the law after a fight at the Butler Intermediate High School. Police said the suspect, a Lyndora girl, is charged with disorderly conduct.
Jackson Twp Police1:38 p.m. Tuesday — A police officer administered a potentially lifesaving dose of an opioid overdose reversal drug after finding a West Virginia woman unconscious at a store parking lot on Route 68.Police said Samantha Thomas, 35, of Ivydale was riding in a pickup truck on Interstate 79 when she became unresponsive. The driver, a 33-year-old Ivydale man, pulled off the highway and traveled to the Buy ‘n Fly. He also called 911.Patrolman Vaughn Pulgini was first there and gave Thomas three doses of Narcan. The woman regained consciousness as a Harmony EMS crew arrived. She was later taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for further treatment.Police said during the investigation they found contraband including opioid-based pills, used hypodermic needles and a crack pipe.5:43 p.m. March 23 — Michael A. Harter, 46, of Forward Township was arrested after he allegedly kicked a police officer during an altercation at Northgate Plaza on Route 19.Police said they found Harter after being called for an intoxicated man wandering around. When officers approached the suspect, he became “belligerent and confrontational,” according to a police report.Harter was arrested for public intoxication but when police tried to place him in a patrol car, he is accused of kicking Patrolman Zeke Reed in the lower left leg. Reed was not injured.The defendant was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and driving with a suspended license-DUI related. He was placed in Butler County Prison $15,000 bail following arraignment.
State Police, Kittanning3:55 p.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Herman H. Rush, 20, of Kittanning rear-ended another SUV on Route 422 in Kittanning Township. Kari N. Fello, 25, of Ford City was the other driver.No one was injured. Police cited Rush for following too closely to another vehicle.10 a.m. Tuesday — A 22-year-old East Brady man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a two-vehicle wreck in O’Hara Township, Allegheny County.Police said the suspect was traveling north of Route 28 near the Highland Park Bridge when he swerved into the right-hand lane and struck the other vehicle. He swerved again and hit a guardrail.The investigation continues, police said, and charges are pending.March 23 — An unknown thief stole $53 from the wallet of an 87-year-old resident at Lake Manor Care Center in Sugarcreek Township. Police said the money was taken on two different occasions between Feb. 1 and March 23.
State Police, Mercer9:45 p.m. Wednesday — Abby L. Tobias, 29, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on North Broad Street Extension in Pine Township, Mercer County. Police said they pulled over Tobias after authorities received several calls for an erratic driver in the area.The suspect was taken to Grove City Medical Center for a blood test. Charges are pending lab results, police said.5 p.m. Tuesday — An unknown male man swiped two purses from a store at the Premium Outlets in Springfield Township in a shoplifting turned robbery.The suspect took two purses, valued at $337.50, while at the Michael Kors store. When he tried to leave without paying for the items, police said, he pushed a man on his way out of the door.The shoplifting incident became a robbery, under state law, when the thief used force during the alleged crime. A police report did not provide any description of the suspect.3:15 p.m. Tuesday — William Lee Bobbert, 44, of Mercer was arrested after he allegedly threatened two county probation officers during an altercation at a home in Springfield Township.Bobbert is charged with two counts of terroristic threats as well as resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was placed in Mercer County Jail following the arrest.6:01 a.m. Monday — A Butler woman allegedly ran off with 20 packs of cigarettes and an energy drink during a shoplifting incident at a Springfield Township convenience store.The suspect, 24-year-old Chelsea L. Weber, is accused of attempting to use a credit card to pay for the $163 in merchandise at the Kwik Fill on Leesburg-Grove City Road. But when the card was denied, according to a police report, she scooped up the items and fled.Police said Weber faces a charge of retail theft.6 a.m. Monday — An unknown identity thief used a Springfield Township couple’s debit card to make several fraudulent purchases in Ohio.
