Butler Township Police

Wednesday — Police charged Scott A. Locke, 45, of Butler in connection with an incident about 6:20 p.m. Monday on Evergreen Road.An officer stopped Locke after seeing him in the backyards of several homes. While being questioned, according to a police report, he gave the officer a bogus name. He later resisted when the officer tried to arrest him.He is charged with resisting arrest, false identification to law enforcement authorities and possession of drug paraphernalia.Police also learned that he was wanted on at least one bench warrant, which landed him in the Butler County Prison.2:52 p.m. Tuesday — Paul Stewart, 29, of Butler lost control of his car on snow-covered Lions Road and slid into another vehicle driven by Lisa Orr-Patterson, 33, of Harrisville. Police said Stewart was cited for driving an unregistered vehicle.1:51 p.m. Tuesday — One person was hurt when a car driven by Chase D. Shirey, 21, of Parker rear-ended another vehicle in the 600 block of Benbrook Road.The other driver, 44-year-old Michele Slater of Butler, suffered minor head and neck injuries. Both vehicles were towed.Police cited Shirey for driving too fast for conditions and careless driving.

Cranberry Township Police 12:45 a.m. Monday — A 27-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.Brandon P. Cavey of Imperial, Allegheny County, is charged with simple assault and harassment following the domestic dispute on Marshall Road.Police interviewed the victim, who said that they got into an argument in her garage and Cavey punched her in the face several times and kicked her in the side, according to court records. She fled the house and called 911.Cavey, who had a scratch above his right eye, claimed that he only struck her in self-defense. He was arraigned on charges and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.

Middlesex Township PoliceWednesday — Police charged Hannah F. Adler, 23, of Mars with driving under the influence stemming from her arrest during a Thanksgiving Day sobriety checkpoint operation on Route 8 in the township.The Butler County DUI Task Force organized the roving checkpoint that targeted drunken drivers during the holiday period.Middlesex Township Patrolman Bryan Costanzo said he found Adler shortly before 3 a.m. in her car parked on the side of road at Route 8 and Route 228 east. She reeked of alcohol and was eventually taken to UPMC Passavant in Cranberry Township for a blood test.Adler’s blood-alcohol level was found to be 0.16 percent, or double the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit.An inventory search of her car, Costanzo said, turned up a baggie of suspected marijuana and a marijuana pipe.In addition to DUI, Adler is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

State Police, Butler1:46 a.m. Wednesday — Benjamin C. Haugh, 18, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance in the 200 block of South Duffy Street in Butler Township.1:25 p.m. Tuesday — Kevin C. Bresnahan, 54, of Fenelton lost control of his Mack truck and struck a tree along Route 58 just east of Black Road in Marion Township.Monday — An unknown thief stole a 9 mm pistol from an unlocked sport utility vehicle at a home on Mar Vel Drive in Center Township. The owner, a 42-year-old man, said the gun was taken between 8:30 p.m. Sunday and 3 p.m. Monday. The Kel-Tec PF-9 pistol has the serial number RPE67.2:54 a.m. Saturday — Lynn Alan Blake, 49, of Butler was arrested for drunken driving after he was stopped for not using his left-turn signal at West Brady and Broad streets in Butler.Police said Blake, who appeared impaired, admitted he had consumed four beers and two shots of liquor, according to court documents. A breath test later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.10 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.He is charged with DUI, driving without a license, a lighting violation and the turn signal violation.Dec. 8 — Police charged Richard V. Zabicki, 45, of Winfield Township with being more than twice the state’s legal limit for alcohol Nov. 19 after he was stopped for weaving in his lane of traffic on Route 8 in Center Township.Zabicki was arrested after failing to take field sobriety tests and telling police, “you got me,” according to court documents. A breath test subsequently revealed his blood-alcohol level was 0.184 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.He is charged with driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.Dec. 8 — Geoffrey S. Hanna, 36, of Gibsonia was charged with drunken and drugged driving in connection with a July 2 traffic stop in Center Township. The stop was made shortly after 1:10 a.m. after troopers spotted his car travel over the fog line on Route 8.Following his arrest, according to court documents, he was searched and found with two unspecified pills for which he did not have a prescription.Hanna is charged with driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol, possession of a controlled substance, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.Dec. 8 — Shane M. Lackey, 21, of Butler was charged with drunken driving stemming from a Dec. 4 traffic stop in Center Township. Police said they stopped his pickup truck about 2 a.m. at Mahood and Jamisonville roads for having a burned out headlight.Lackey, who smelled of alcohol and appeared impaired, was arrested after failing field sobriety tests, court documents said. A breath test later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.105 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to DUI, he is charged with a stop sign violation, careless driving and a lighting violation.

State Police, Kittanning2:51 a.m. Wednesday — A 26-year-old Templeton man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance at Oak and Union avenues in Kittanning. Police said they also found suspected drug paraphernalia in the suspect’s car.Charges are pending lab results, a police report said.Monday — A 33-year-old Adrian man is suspected of stealing about 150 feet of 220-volt wire, estimated to be worth $800, from Old Reesedale Road in Washington Township, Armstrong County.Police did not identify the suspect and noted that the investigation continues into the theft that happened between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.2:57 p.m. Dec. 6 — A car driven by a Templeton teenager landed in a stream after crashing on Baum Mosgrove Road at Ridge Road in Boggs Township. Jord Morganti-Martineau, 18, told troopers she lost control of the vehicle after swerving to avoid an animal on the road.The vehicle traveled off the wet road and went over an embankment, according to a police report, before ending in the stream.The teen was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Police said they cited her for driving on the wrong side of the road.
